Nintendo: Nintendo America Confirms Reggie Fils-Aime Will Be Hosting Press Event At LA Auto Show

Nintendo of America has confirmed via press release that Reggie Fils-Aime and Ryan Friedlinghaus, founder and CEO of West Coast Customs, will be unveiling an exclusive collaboration between the iconic gaming brand and one of the most recognized names in the custom automotive industry. The presentation will take place during the LA Auto Show’s Nov. 17 Press Day at 12:10 p.m. Any ideas regarding what they may unveil?

    1. lol, they’ll reveal a drivable classic kart that comes with your choice of a Mario character costume so you can wear it while you drive around.

    1. The conference isn’t but the event is :-)

The presentation will take place during the LA Auto Show’s Nov. 17 Press Day at 12:10 p.m. Consumers will also be able to visit the Nintendo booth from Nov. 18-27, when the show is open to the public.

  1. I would think either an F-Zero relaunch (3DS and/or Wii U), Mariokart Wii U title (least expected) or a new racing IP. Seems odd to be at an auto show.

    1. I really want F-Zero Reboot on Wii U.

I’ve been waiting 7 years for a new one!

Also Starfox needs to be rebooted and it’s been 6 years since the last non-remake one.

      1. Iwata said buy Star Fox 64 3D to get a new Star Fox title…

F-Zero would be cool on the 3DS in addition though. Wii U would be better, but I’d take a 3DS one.

  2. They will be unveiling their new brand of supercars!

Exclusive collaboration… sounds like something vehicle related that isn’t a “one time” thing.

  3. This will have nothing to do with games. I seem to remember a couple years back at the NYC Auto Show that Nintendo teamed up with one of the auto makers for a sound system. I know that sounds strange, but I would expect something along those lines rather than

  4. I seem to remember Nintendo colaborating with one of the auto makers on an audio system. I’m pretty sure it was unveiled a couple years ago as a prototype at the NYC Auto Show. I would expect something along those lines rather than a big game or hardware announcement. If there’s any tie-in, it’ll be to Mario Kart 7 coming next month.

  5. Most companies will reveal Cars that drive by themselves to the destination you set on the GPS.

Nintendo Jumps in and comes with a new console call the “DScar” a new console integrated into the cars so you can play as the car drive you to your destination and you don’t get bored on the way.

  6. Why in the world would Nintendo join with a custom automotive industry just to add a car to an existing franchise? Of course not. It’s either Nintendo advertising through them, or their making a realistic racing game based off their industry’s cars.

  7. It’s probably just a showing of what Mario Kart 7 is. Trailers, on-stage demos, reveals, etc. Probably nothing special. Although it would be great if they showed off new games that we don’t know of.

  8. Maybe its a custom Zelda 25th anniversary car? Theyve been using the 25th anniversary as a theme for everything this year. Not that thats a bad thing at all :] Zelda For Life!

  9. I am really hoping for F-Zero. They’ve done quite a few Mario Kart titles in recent years, and the other racers just don’t seem worthy of a Nintendo press event.
