Nintendo Wii: This Video Demonstrates Just How Precise The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword Controls Are

BitBlock have posted a video showcasing just how accurate the controls are in The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword. The footage clearly counteracts comments from the GameSpot review which took issue with the motion sensing controls. As you can see from the video the 1:1 is near on perfect.

  1. I’m assuming anyone criticizing this game must either be an idiot or a troll cause there’s nothing I don’t like about it. This video further proves how good the game actually is, despite all the complaints.

  2. The shoulder shrug at the end just seals the deal.

Basically, you have to put effort and precision into the game to do well. Effort in a game is unacceptable.

      1. When we were kids, my sister took my cousin’s Mario bros 3 cartridge and dunked it water then put it in the freezer for 5 mins (he stole our games and wouldn’t give it back) and after all that IT STILL WORKED. OMG! Nintendium is amazing.

        1. Oh wait, I just thought of something! Maybe this guy (GS reviewer) has a mind of a 4-year-old! Think about it, he says the controls are hard but Nintendo made the game easy enough for a 5-year-old. Sorry, GS reviewer if my earlier posts have offended you. (not really)

      1. Yeah because being friends with a gay person automatically gay. Don’t you know that homosexuality is an airborne disease and highly contagious? So run, my friend! Save yourself from the gayness of your friend. LOL! What ignorance! Would you abandon a friend because he/she was gay? If yes then you were never their friend in the first place.

Seriously, John. That’s none of your business.

  3. 2 things.

    1. When he was using the bow the aiming reticle was shaking and yet his hand was not.

    2. What I don’t get is you have to move the controller to make the bird flap it’s wings, yet it’s a button command to dive. Diving should take top priority…… It’s way more fun >.>

    1. You can’t tell that his arms aren’t shaking. Put your arms in front of you like you’re holding a bow, and tell me your arms don’t move a small amount. In a first person view it’s more noticeable.

    2. It might be that the controller is that sensitive. It is one to one after all. If I rose my hands up to that level while sitting down, my hands would kinda shake too.

    3. Isn’t the reticle shaking to simulate the strength x precision dynamics lots of other games simulates? In MGS you can even smoke to help it…

    4. how the fuck can you even see his arm and the bow at the same time to tell if his arm is shaking!? do you have camelion eyes?

    5. For that #1, in case you didn’t know, it’s virtually impossible to hold your arm completely still. Your muscles continue to make small contractions and expansions. That just shows how sensitive the Wii mote is if nothing else.

And I kinda lost you and #2 but I think that not actually flying and not just plummeting to your death helps a bit. :P

  4. things I notice about this video apart from the Timberlake lookalike:
    1. Even though it’s not his first time playing, he’s clearly enjoying it
    2. Is it possible to play without making those expressions? I know I can’t. :-)

  5. I was playing this game 7 hours straight, i’m on the part were you have to collect 5 key pieces on Eldin Volcano. This is the best game i’ve ever played.

  7. I also live in California and gamestop doesn’t open for about 2 1/2 hours more! Damn bastards had a midnight launch for Rage but not for this game.

Anyways, if you guys read the gamespot review, you would notice that the reviewer says, “I tried to waggle my way through.” The key word here is ‘waggle.’ At that moment, all his credibility was lost. This video plus a handful of other videos by people and personal comments from playing the full game from other people proves that review was pure hate. I guess the perfect score from Famitsu and EDGE were spot on then.

  8. Come on 8 so I can get off work and play this game….i have super Mario 3d land at work to hold me until then I’m in special world 8 and can’t progress until I get more star coins.

  9. The controls look like they work perfectly. It comes out today I hope everybody having a good time. Wait, no one’s here to read this. LOL, talking to myself.

  10. This is officialy the best game I’ve ever played. And the golden Wii-mote is like sended from heaven, it looks so beautiful <3

  11. After Ocarina of Time, even after Majoras Mask, the Zelda series went the way of Fisher Price, if you know what I mean. TP, of course, being the exception within that time frame. Alright Nintendo, you had your little playtime with the elementary kids, now make us adult gamers a mature Zelda game we won’t be embarrassed to play in front of our friends.

    1. I don’t see why should you even get embarrassed by playing a Legend of Zelda game (whichever it may be) in front of your friends.

    2. Why do you give a fuck what your friends think about the games you’re playing? You paid for the game and the console, didn’t you? I don’t like car racing and (most) FPS, but I wouldn’t give my friends shit for playing them. You need to stop worrying about what your friends think and do what you want to do.

  12. Wow I just realized watching this guy play that I totally suck at the game. haha I don’t even take much use of the controls like I didn’t even know the skyward beam could be used to hit enemies. Thanks for teaching this n00b.
