i know its awful we are out of club nintendo, i created an acount but they cancelled it whe they figured out i was not from US

  1. In europe we have stars instead of coins… we get 250 stars for a retail game for example and we can change them by a ratio of 4 : 1 into Nintendo Points… So in order to get a 3d classic title for example which is 600 points in the 3DS shop you have to collect 2400 stars which is an equivalent of almost 500 Euros invested in Retail-Games (mostly frist party)… what a rip off!!!!

    1. What a rip off?! It’s free bonuses you receive for games you purchase! Does Microsoft do this? Does Sony do this? No! Be grateful that Nintendo gives away awesome gifts away to their fans!

      1. What are you talking about? Free Gifts??? Nintendo products are way overpriced and the prices don’t go down for years.. After almost 5 years they’ve introduced “nintendo Selects” (still overpriced) and the selections are way to few… If I’m heading for the store right now and wanted to buy a 3 and a half year old game (Mario Kart Wii) they would still charge me 50 bucks for it… For the same money I can get two triple A Playstation 3 Games (platinum) and one PSP Essential… So please, don’t tell me I should be grateful… I love Ninetndo I really do, but they’ve drained my wallets for 20 Years now… and they couldn’t even give me a 1 to 1 ratio for changing stars into points? I pay 50 bucks for a game and they gave me the equivalent of 75 cents? Or how about getting a 3DS for 249 Euros? Wow! Almost a whole Euro credit in their store!!! You can’t be serious….

        1. That wasn’t what you were complaining about in your orignal post. You said how it’s a rip-off that it would take you 500 euros that you’ve already spent in games to exchange for a 3D classic game. You don’t buy games to exchange for points, you buy games to play them. What I said was that XBox and Playstation fans spend all their money on games (like us) but get nothing in return. At least we get free prizes for purchasing Nintendo products.

          1. That was exactly what I was complaining about… And this is about Nintendo, not about Sony or Microsoft… They have their own faults, but right now I’m talking about Nintendos bad buisness policies.ANd there are plenty…. I don’t even begin talking about those – I could write a whole book about… (keep in mind, that I consider myself a die-hard Nintendo lover)
Back to the topic: When they announced the exchange of nintendo stars into NIntendo points I was excited. Finally I could spend my collected stars (by buying lots and lots of expensive Nintendo products) for something I care for: Games! But then it was said my precious stars would be only worth a quarter in Nintendo points… and that was slap in the face! It was such a good Idea… ruined by greed. In the end I got one or two virtual console games (VC = another example of bad marketing) for thousands and thousands of stars…. Now that’s a bummer. Nintendo kicked me in the balls before, again and again… Still, I support them, and millions of other fans. And for that, as truly devoted costumers, the backbone of that company – don’t you think we deserve a bit more as a store credit calculated that measly? Please, no fanboyism.. stay factual… ;)

          1. Yes.. they dropped the price… because it was too high to begin with… At least I have a few free games I played to death decades ago as a compensation… ;) Seriously, I was talking about Wii- GAmes (or Gamecube, or N64, or GBA Advance, or DS for that matter). It is absolutly normal, that a good selling PS3 game for example is on the shelf for 20 bucks only half a year after release. It’s common sense: You sell loads of games until numbers go down.. then you drop the price… and sales will go up again… When the market is saturated you’ll probably drop the price even more… Or the other way around. Game sales are very weak.. What do you do? You drop the price! Not so Nintendo. The only exeption are Nintendo “Selects” and “Player’s Choice” (or what was the name of it?) but as I said: Way to late in the consoles lifecycle, to few games ans still to expensive! So I refused on a few games. Super Paper Mario? 49,99 Euro! Mario Kart Wii? 49,99! New Super Mario Brothers Wii? 49,99! Donkey Kong Country Returns? 49,99! I know there a sources where you can get them a bit cheaper but still.. many of those games that are full price are 4 years old….
I could go on and on.. but I won’t… Enough time and energy wasted for something that will hopefully change in the future..

              1. Of course not… But I am a member of Club Nintendo, and a customer of Nintendo… And in both cases I am severly dissappointed in Nintendo… Keep in mind, that I bought every major console since the SNES of my own money, same goes for the games. I am a customer and Nintendos customer service had too many flaws, so did their buisness policies… I will not even start with their products (consoles, games) lately… Can’t you be realistic for a moment and just take a look at the facts..? Besides, it was a simple FACT: I am dissapointed with the star/points system… That’s all. My opinion… You can have yours…

    1. This sucks… Still, I’m pretty sure we can log in as US residents and download the games with available coins, but I’m not really that interested in neither Xevious or Mario & DK…

      1. It gives you a code that you put in on the Wii shop channel. You click on setting, then on “download certificate” and put in the code.

  2. I’m on the UK Club Nintendo site now and it’s still using stars, not coins. There is no fresh new look or downloadable games for us either :(

  3. Well this is awesome. I didn’t realize I hadn’t done a post play survey for a game which I forgot about and did other Post Play surveys and just got enough coins to get Gold Status.

Now time to order those Zelda Posters.

  7. im trying to get minis march again and it keeps logging me out and says you are not eligible for this elite status reward, do i have to be gold to get it, im close but not gold yet for this year

  8. The European Club Nintendo is awful. Everything is over-priced and the selection of things to buy with your star points are poor. It would takes years of buying Nintendo products to be able to buy one of the good items off of there.

  9. I’ve only redeemed Super Mario Kart, 3D Classics Xevious, and Fluidity. I did not get Mario VS DK Minis March Again because I only have a few coins left.
