Probably not for me, it doesn’t differentiate itself enough from the previous New Super Mario Bros. games, which were already uninspiring to least say the least for me.

Of course the games have similar controls and looks, because they work extremely well and the games sell extremely well. This one will probably have some very unique levels, being the first HD title.
I’m basing my judgement off what I’ve seen so far, and it doesn’t look like anything I haven’t already played. They may work and sell extremely well, but it’s not enough for me. The game looks pretty in HD, but I doubt the levels will be any more creative then the NSMB DS and Wii games, which weren’t very creative at all. I’ll probably pick it up for cheap when I get the chance, but from what I’ve seen so far, I could care less.

I wouldn’t see why it couldn’t be a launch title. Development time shouldn’t be that long, the base is already entirely laid out for the game. Just new levels, better visuals, and some new ideas is all they’ll need to do.

1.They never said that the wii u will be ONLY for hardcore gamers.
2. They have made it clear the wii u will not be a power house to make it affordable.(and anyone who expects a power house is just not well cause you want a cheap and powerful system) and we got a next gen system that can do 1080p at 60fps

These are launch window titles, and from what we’ve seen of assassin’s creed 3, it looks better than the PS3 version already.

Im an AC fan and im buying it for WiiU because its runs better, and i like the mal and switching weapons on the fly.
But here’s the thing, you’re already obviously a Nintendo fan (or else you wouldn’t frequent the site but I digress). However, people that aren’t huge on Ninty aren’t going to buy a WiiU just to play a very slightly better version of AC3 when they can get it on the console they already own. Games like this and Arkham City aren’t going to draw in 360 and PS3 owners because the either already own them or are planning to buy it on the system they already own. What Ninty needs is some great third party exclusives or games that have tons of extra and innovative features due to the new touchscreen controller. A game like AC3 which doesn’t do a whole lot extra on the WiiU will only sell to Nintendo fans or people already planning to buy the WiiU.
I think the problem with the idea that the “WiiU has great third party games” is that they’re all games that have already been or are going to be released on other consoles. So these third party games are really going to appeal to Nintendo fanboys that don’t own other consoles

Sony have stated they wont make a new console until there is a big difference. so answer is yes…
And if Microsoft decide to go for a less powerful console because its going to come with kinect 2 and VR glasses and get it out for a reasonable Price. And it cant be denied that microsoft are going after the casuals. Then where would that leave sony with their own great looking games that they made, but with ports of games that would be firstly developed on U and 720.

The Wii U is getting ports so developers can test the system and learn how to program with it every console gets ports in the beginning. Of course when somebody makes a new HD console there will be ports of HD games and from what we can tell the ports will be better than the originals because of the new controller.
And games made by retro studios and Monolith soft. That probably wont be released in the west.
As far as i get the wii u next year am not gona complain missed out on some cool games this gen and gona get some cool next gen even if they are ports of next gen. Its still next gen better than this gen

New Super Mario Bros U will be a launch game. Not a launch window game but a launch game. This guy was just confused. Reggie, and even Iwata-san, have said so. Until one of them – specifically the latter, says so then the game is available the same day as the Wii U.

I will say that in many people’s minds (not including my own) the day-of-launch is similar to E3: It’s the one they pay the most attention to and where they gather opinions they’re going to hold for months on end. Since there’s plenty of video game events throughout the year, including company specific ones like Nintendo Direct broadcasts (I mention that based on where I’m posting), this is a pretty silly approach to take now, but that’s not going to stop some people.
In the case of a launch, no matter how many times you spell out the concept of a launch window, too many people only associate the term “launch” with “day 1.” Now that is what Reggie promised and I’m hoping he or Iwata come forward to correct this statement. The impression left by not having something day one is just as temporary as E3 (w/ the exception in both cases of infamously terrible years like Sony’s 06 or Nintendo’s 08), but if they can help it Nintendo needs to get off on the right foot with as many potential customers as possible.

There was never reason to really beleive it would come out with the system, and nobody from NIntendo confirmed it’d be day 1 (even the Wii U listings were prone to changes). They haven’t even announced the console’s release date yet, nobody should worry about the games right now.

It really doesn’t matter if the game is a rehash or not (somewhat with on there, but more for NSMB2), what matters is that Mario games sell very well and can make or brake a Nintendo console. Last time this happened was both the Gamecube and 3DS and what happened? they didn’t sell as well as they normally do. A Mario game is still a Mario game regrdless if he’s innovating the gaming world or bagging groceries. Its still a Mario game and it will sell a shit ton.
