Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has revealed on the latest Nintendo Direct that New Super Mario Bros 2 players have amassed a whopping 57 billion coins so far in the game. Nintendo also announced that it will be providing a series of videos which will show players how to collect more coins.

Who knows, maybe that’s why they keep telling us what the worldwide total is? Maybe when we reach a set figure something may happen? Be nice if it happened but unlikely.
