Business Insider: ‘Wii U Is The Most Fun We’ve Ever Had With Console Gaming’

U.S. business and entertainment news website Business Insider’s editors say Wii U is the most fun they’ve ever had with console gaming. After trying several Wii U game demos, editor Dylon Love says his favorite game is Mario Chase, which is one of 12 Nintendo Land attractions.

“I’ve had relatively limited experience with console video games, so keep that in mind when I tell you the following: the Wii U is the most fun I’ve ever had playing games on a console hooked up to my TV.”

“I’m emphasizing fun. Not necessarily the best graphics (which are nevertheless great) or most in-depth storylines. Just loads and loads of unadulterated diversion.”

  1. How much story could a minigame really have…
Though I agree the graphics of NintendoLand could be much MUCH better. Though, the Metroid attraction looks really nice.

  2. I got to play a lot of Wii U games at the Los Angeles preview event, and the NIntendo Land games are really fun and addicting. I didn’t want to stop playing Mario Chase. The graphics looked pretty good for Nintendo Land as well, despite the fact that it’s really just basically Miis in a simplified background.

Rayman and the Wonderful 101 look spectacular, and I was really impressed by the gamepad’s screen. For Rayman, the small screen just popped with color.

  3. And this is what the tons of rival fanboys constantly mocking Nintendo fail to grasp. Video game consoles weren’t created so that we can look at details in textures or to count the frame rate….they were created as an entertainment device. Therefore the primary aim is to have fun whilst playing…Nintendo succeeds because they have not forgotten this aim
(I am not implying in any way that fun games cannot be found on other consoles. Far from it)

    1. You didn’t imply that at all; only an idiot [troll] would infer that from your statement. Anyway, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with you. I couldn’t have said it better myself. . .

  4. Unsurprising, games are supposed to be about fun. Yes, a story is good, the first time. Yes, graphcs are nice to look at, once. But gameplay is whats most important.

    1. Yeh!! but his judgement on demo build graphics isn’t factual , lol. The wiiu will have slightly better graphics than what’s out there , we know this! but that’s not important as the controler and all that jazz!!

Trine 2 directors cut would have to be scaled down to work on the 360 and ps3 ??? that’s called better graphics. Rayman legends looking like visual sex on 2 screens at once ??? , that’s called better graphics.

Nintendo Land and NSMBU could look better though. After playing trine 2 I know for a fact they haven’t put full effort into the graphics of those games!

  5. IMO, Nintendo land will appeal to the quick n easy distraction that Apps currently fill.

Rather than turn on an app for quick fun, pop in Nintendo land for some family/friend run & gun fun.

  6. That’s right graphica aren’t everything. I read a review of Xenoblade Chronicles and the guy was bashing the game for the graphics, very pathetic. He said it should have only been on 360 or PS3 what a tool

    1. Did this reviewer forgot that Xenoblade Chronicles is developed by Monolith Soft, who is a first-party developer of Nintendo?

      1. Why in Dolphin emulator a game like Xenoblade looks hd? I have seen on YouTube and beyond beautiful! They need to remake it for wii U.

  7. Wii U will catch on because it is fun, I hate the video game critics that look down on fun games they call casual. I loved Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort as much as any hardcore game I ever played. A lot of people are going to love Nintendo Land, I do hope it has more depth than Wii Sports, that game didn’t have enough content. Screw Xplay and Tim Turi from Gameinformer who are anti-Nintendo. They think video games have to be tailored to there interest only.
