Consumers will have the chance to be among the first in the world to purchase the Wii U console when the clock strikes midnight on Nov. 18 at Nintendo World in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza. Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime will be on hand to count down the launch and sell a new Wii U to the first consumer in line.
Fans waiting in line will get premium items (while supplies last) during the event. Note that supplies are limited, and systems will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Nintendo is also selling New York-themed T-shirts with Mario’s image at the event. All proceeds from sales of the shirts will be donated to the American Red Cross in support of relief efforts from the effects of Hurricane Sandy.

Who cares as long as they release it on that day.
It would still be cool for Reggie to actually hand you your Wii U. I do agree though.
What about GameStop :/
my gamestop said they wernt doing a midnight release
i preordered mine at nintendo world so thats good news for me midnight release with reggie im there
Good lord! Reggie his face is like the love hole of my goat. I would hump it long into the night. I wish only to love. WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU I need you. Let us celebrate with a festival of goats!
Jesus Christ
….Ew
Why ew my child? Have you experienced the goat for yourself? One cannot say ew if one has not had the pleasure of goat love..
I’ll be there on that day.
I live in Europe so I will get my Wii U november 30… And I like it because that is after I get my money and have payed rent and all that stuff :) So I know how many games I can afford.
Who am I kidding… I am mad and jelly ;___;
Don’t worry, soon we’ll all have our Wii U systems. That’s what matters the most.
Can’t afford it as of right now, so I’m not too bothered by the release date being so close.
Maybe in the near future.
Maybe.
Why must it always be New York? T_T
Lots of things happen in New York…. and we have the Nintendo World Store, so that too.
I wish i could go to this (I live in long island 1 1/2 – 2 hours away from manhattan) , but since i already have a preorder at gamestop there’s no way my parents are going to take me to get one there instead…
i already know the line is going to be insanely huge though, so many people in new york.
Its not first come, first served – they took reservations, but are completely sold out. Don’t want people showing up thinking they’ll get one!
nope the have the pre-order ones but they also have extra for non pre-orders those are limited first come first serve
Reblogged this on After Dark Gaming.
Startin to remind me of when the Ninten’s Wii first launched. Lol i bet ppl gonna have their 3DS and usin swapnote xD
I can see lots of people cosplaying on that day…..
They should play that music as reggie dances to it and hands out a wiiu. That would be classic.
OMG! I’m going to midnight release on Nintendo World store and Reggie is gonna be there?! I better prepare my body for it.
Other than the fact that Reggie will be there to sell the first Wii U, what’s the point of being at a store at midnight just to buy a new console? I have NEVER bought any new console on any midnight sell. It’s too late to even enjoy it at that time. I’d rather buy it during normal store hours, as long as I can get one before next year.
That’s impressive. I quvier at spending over 1K on just about anything.Gamers are such an odd market. You have one end that complains that the $600 PS3 (which is essentially a $900 rig geared just for gaming) is way too much. And then another which will drop three large (or obviously, twice that) to play the latest and greatest.
