Following the news earlier today that F-Zero is available to purchase in Europe via the Wii U Virtual Console, North American fans can also download the critically acclaimed racer right now. The game will retail for 30 cents from February 20th to March 21st on the Wii U eShop. We found out earlier that the European version of the game will run at 60HZ, which is exactly the same as the NTSC version.

60Hz just means the game will run a little bit faster and smoother. It’s noticeable in fast game like Sonic and F-Zero.

It’s basically the speed it runs at. For some reason games in Europe ran at 50hz rather than 60. Its all to do with the televisions or something, and European versions got made slower, some times its noticeable, others its not.
It is the frame rate, that indicates the speed (per second) that one image is refreshed on the screen. Consequently, the higher the frame rate, the better the image quality. Some people argue that there is a significant difference between 50 Hz and 60 Hz (50 and 60 refreshes per second), but to be honest, maybe I’m one of those who are not able to catch the differences.
You can tell the difference if you watch a side by side I bet though
