A poster that Kotaku has received suggests that the next Assassin’s Creed game will be titled Black Flag. You may remember a Reddit user caught sight of Ubisoft marketing materials on a flight he was on which suggested that the game is titled Black Flag. Ubsoft is holding an Assassin’s Creed presentation tomorrow for press so expect the game to be revealed to the public then.
Update: More information on the game. The main characters name is Edward Kenway, father of Haytham Kenway from Assassin’s Creed 3. Edward is known as a Privateer, Assassin and occasional pirate. The games location is set in the Caribbean on multiple islands including Jamaica, Cuba and the Bahamas. The current game is running on the Xbox 360, but has plans for next generation consoles as well.

I’ll probably be getting this for PS4 since my Wii U is going to be used for 1st Party games with the occasional 3rd Party game that actually does something cool with the gamepad ZombiU did.
I might get this for Wii U but from my experience with playing on Assassin’s Creed III on Wii U which lagged like hell, I’ll most likely get it for PS4
i think the same as you….i love the wii u but will probably only get 1st party games on it…i regret thatt i bought ac3 on the wiiu and the ps4 will be so awesome cant wait to play good games on it

For some reason the fps drops down to about 20 or so when I enter into a crowded area which made it harder to move about. Maybe I just got a dodgy copy but I’ll probably still get for PS4
I haven’t experienced lag for a second. Now lockups, never ending loading screens and glitches are a different story. ;3
I still love the hell out of it and have no regrets with the purchase.
Btw, I bought mine from the eShop. Maybe it’s only the retail version causing the problems or something…

My faith in this game is 50/50. On one hand, AC3 was so mediocre i dont care about thenAC series anymore. On the other hand, if this is a next gen game, they can do so much more with the tech, that could revitalise the game, and theyre basically taking the best thing from AC3, the naval missions. Also, pirates.

I’m sure they Put AC3 on Wiiu knowing Future games will be scalable onto Wiiu. And it’s 99% it will end up on PS3 and 360 as will many games for a couple of years because devs are money grabbing bastards.
The hungry installed base of 360 and PS3 can potentialy hold back next gen consoles for the first 2 or 3 years.
@Nintenward.. Excellent point! I’ve been saying the same thing for a few months now. Plus, the CEO of Ubisoft said the same thing also. The newer consoles of Sony/Microsoft will be hurt by their older brothers, because most people, like me, aren’t looking to upgrade right away. Especially with no backwards compatiability. This is why the Wii U is in a great place. It doesn’t have to compete with it’s older brother.
It’s why Watchdogs is coming to Wiiu and others will follow.

I ask this because I threw away my Kinect for Xbox after hearing and researching that it can watch you and provide info to the government so it is pretty much like having a live video camera and voice recorder being set up in your house to watch you.

Nope. Gamepad camera only works during a Wii U video chat. I too heard about kinect watching you but its probably bullshit. Kinect 2.0 on the Xbox 720 though…that’s a different story.

I do like Assassin’s Creed, but I am a bit worried about this news. I mean, the Carribean would have even less buildings and ither objects to climb on than 3, which I found to have far fewer oppotunites for freerunning than 2, Brotherhood or Revalations.
Plus, while the naval missons were ok in 3, they’re not worth making a very intergral part of the game. The naval missions were the only major sidequests I skipped on in 3, simply because I found them boring and tedious. Maybe I’m missing something about them.
While I do think this is a good idea for the story, I think it should be part of the AC3 sub-series instead of 4, since it will link very closly with 3’s story with learning how Haytham became a Templar and stuff.
But we’ll (hopefully) see gameplay tomorrow, so I won’t be too judgemental until then.
