Here’s The Pokemon Rumble U Trailer Showing Off NFC Functionality

Nintendo Japan has released the first trailer of Pokemon Rumble U for the Wii U. The game will be launching in Japan as a downloadable title on April 24th for $19. Just like the Skylanders franchise, you will be able to purchase Pokemon figures that will be available to buy for $2 each. To use the Pokemon all you will need to do is position them near the Wii U GamePad and the character will appear in the game. There will be seven figures available in total, including Bulbasaur, Lucario, Pikachu, Piplup, Torchic, Victini. The seventh Pokemon is remaining a secret for the time being. The figures will be available to purchase in toy vending machines in Japan, which means you will not know exactly which Pokemon figure you’re going to get.

  1. It’s a perfect game to use that with, though I was actually fearing it. I do hope they don’t make figures for all of the Pokémon. I’ve lost track of how many there are now, but that’s just way too many for my tastes. I don’t think we’ll get the vending machines here in the US though. For that matter, will we even get the game? I love the Rumble games, but I feel like this one is just one we won’t see.

  2. The poly-count of the models in this game is extremely low, but the lighting and textures look superb. Should be a good game for Nintendo to get their feet wet while they work on a major Pokemon game. Kinda like how Windwaker HD is being made to tide people over until the HD Zelda is completed.

  3. Pokemone Rumble U is gonna be #1 in the top 20 eShop games for the U. Not to mention printing more money and more Pokemon NFC enhanced figurines adding more fun and challenge to the game!

    1. You’re not a big player… you’re nothing but a small troll who lives in an imaginary world of Trolla Land. U mad because Nintendo is using their first Wii U eShop game using NFC technology. All you have is the same monotonous controller from the past 2 generations.

  5. I have no interest in Pokemon Rumble. But I wouldn’t mind collecting all of the little figures when they go on sale. The NFC Functionality would have been SO much cooler if it was made to where you could use any object that you could find just laying around the house and add it to your games, instead of having to buy specific figures just to do it.

  6. i thought this game had adventure elements now its just a brawler with the most basic stages I have ever seen.
