Kamiya Would Love To See Original Bayonetta On Wii U

bayonettaPlatinum Games designer Hideki Kamiya has expressed an interest in seeing the original Bayonetta ported over to the Wii U. The Japan-based company has been knee-deep in mixed reviews and poor sales since the release of The Wonderful 101 in Europe and Japan last week, but Kamiya is now looking to his next Wii U exclusive Bayonetta 2. In an interview with IGN, Kamiya speaks freely that he would love to see the original Bayonetta – which was released back in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 –  re-released on the Wii U, so that gamers unfamiliar with Bayonetta can experience it on the system before playing the second. Would you like to see a Wii U port of Bayonetta?

“I would love to make that happen, so that gamers unfamiliar with the first game get to play it. This is just my personal opinion, however. I have not much say over the matter. However, I think designers should always keep in mind that not everyone has played the previous title, even if this was released on the same platform. You have to make sure that even players who are unfamiliar with the franchise are able to keep up.”

    1. Remastered collectors edition, I would even pay full games price for that.
But if only eShop download or included on Bayo 2 disc, then no more than 15 coins.

  1. I wrote Kamiya-San about this 2 months ago. Make Bayonetta 1 and free digital download for all who purchase Bayonetta 2 on launch day. All he replied with was “interesting”. I played the 1st one on PS3 and it was a great game!

  2. I would love the first one on Wii U, Then I could throw that loud heater some call playstation out of the window.

  3. This is a game i would not mind purchasing a 3rd time. It’s truly amazing and tons of fun. Tons of unlockables as well. :)

  4. yes. Bayonetta should be re-released for Wii U on the eShop. i had said the same thing with Batman: Arkham Asylum and the original Darksiders too. this would be a good idea, buuut i wouldn’t buy it as i already have Bayonetta for 360

      1. Maybe they can help pushing the sales of TW101 with a Bayonetta 1 Wii U edition as a bonus?…

    1. I swear… if Bayonetta 2 sells poorly…. I’ll go out and buy a million copies myself!!! I WANT Bayonetta 3!!! It’s gotta happen! Maybe Nintendo will fund it again and it can be exclusive to Wii U again!!! :D 💋

  5. Mass Effect should have had the trilogy package instead of just the third game. I was interested, but not worth it to join the game late. Same with this, it would be best to have the original for those of us that.

I played it at E3 and pretty much sold on it, but it would be nice to play/know the backstory without having to read it.

    1. Xbox 360 version was better, but I doubt you could have paid that much for it. At gamestop you can get Bayonetta for $13. Also, if it is “used” you could return it for all your money back. 💋

  6. I’ve had the pleasure(?) of playing the original for a fair few hours at a friend’s house, and I STILL feel “unfamiliar with the franchise.”

  7. I would LOVE to play the original Bayonetta on the Wii U. Hopefully, they’ll make this happen!

  8. I already own Bayonetta on the PS3 but I would gladly buy Bayonetta again for Wii U (when I get one anyway) to both support PlatinumGames and so I could have both Bayonetta’s on the same console.

    1. Yeah in order to boost sales they should do a limited edition bundle having both games in one bundle for the first printing of the game.

  9. I have an idea: Make the Wii U port of the original Bayonetta as part of a Bayonetta 2 Collectors Edition which must have an artbook and soundtrack as well.

Make it happen and it’ll be an instant preorder and day one buy.

  10. I’d buy it for Wii U if it became a thing. People can complain that it’s a port or rehash or whatever, but I see it as continuity. It’d definitely feature some Game Pad features, so it won’t be a straight port per se. Perhaps 1080p visuals for the graphics whores would also be a nice touch.
