Platinum Games designer Hideki Kamiya has expressed an interest in seeing the original Bayonetta ported over to the Wii U. The Japan-based company has been knee-deep in mixed reviews and poor sales since the release of The Wonderful 101 in Europe and Japan last week, but Kamiya is now looking to his next Wii U exclusive Bayonetta 2. In an interview with IGN, Kamiya speaks freely that he would love to see the original Bayonetta – which was released back in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 – re-released on the Wii U, so that gamers unfamiliar with Bayonetta can experience it on the system before playing the second. Would you like to see a Wii U port of Bayonetta?
“I would love to make that happen, so that gamers unfamiliar with the first game get to play it. This is just my personal opinion, however. I have not much say over the matter. However, I think designers should always keep in mind that not everyone has played the previous title, even if this was released on the same platform. You have to make sure that even players who are unfamiliar with the franchise are able to keep up.”
