Capcom Teases New Projects For Next Year, New Ace Attorney In The Works

Deep Down producer Kazunori Sugiura has told 4Gamer that while the company announced plenty of games in 2013, the company has saved some of its announcements for next year. These new announcements will apparently “surprise the readers a lot.” Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 1-3 and Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Director Shu Takumi says that he will be announcing his next title at some point next year and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies Director Takeshi Yamazaki also told 4Gamer that he is completely devoting his time to the next game.

        1. WE ARE…most looking forward to more details.
Ace Attorney is easily one of the best games on the handhelds – sure, there may be those who don’t understand the appeal, but for the others who know and love the series…these announcements are truly enticing.

Now, I hope they confirm localisations soon!

        2. i dont get why people think that playing “mature” games like CoD or GoW makes the “cool” and “mature” and have that mind set that only “cool: play mature games, “babies” play nintendo. here is my thought, only retards spout retard non-sense. btw ace attorney is an awesome franchise and glad crapcom makes the series on nintendo primaraly, maybe time exclusive or console exclusive like how bayonetta 2 is a wii u exclusive all because microcunts and sony refused to fund the games so its their loss and nintendo’s gain and also heard reggie (or was it eiji aonumai?) likes bayonetta (the game) so its why they took advantage of the offer.

    1. Have you ever played the original trilogy? Excellent story, excellent writing, nice visuals and a glorious soundtrack. I wouldn’t necessarily call them “games” in the traditional sense. I could only classify them as “entertainment”, but boy are they excellent examples of entertainment.

And if you have played them and didn’t like them, then there’s this. I personally am not a particular fan of the Halo series, but I’m not big-headed enough to think that that means no one could or should enjoy them. It’s simply in a genre of game that does not appeal to me. It’s a taste thing.

        1. Doesn’t that depend on how you define excellent story and excellent writing? It’s hardly going to win a literature award, but I’ve yet to read a book I thought was any good that literature purists like! I prefer to judge story and writing by;

          – how much I enjoyed it
          – how much of an impact it has left on my life

Both of which the Ace Attorney series has excelled massively in. William Shakespeare eat your heart out.

    1. They should put Monster Hunter 5 on the Wii U only. They wouldn’t be able to keep the thing in stock in Japan. I agree, though, that they should bring 4 to the west. I don’t really want to buy 3Ultimate if there is a newer game out.

  1. I hope they come in cartridge form. Although I own the first 4 ds game cartridges. Didn’t care too much about Investigations and sold it after I beat it. I only got the Dual Destiny DL as it was a present. I couldn’t bring myself to pay $30 for a digital only game even though I love Ace Attorney games.

  2. A new game for the WiiU and they release all the last ones for eShops lol I wonder how’ll that go. If not a new series that’s related to it but for console.

  3. It BETTER be a next gen Street Fighter and a Resident Evil reboot since those two titles could get a company a better reputation and save the company from debt.

    1. Capcom doesn’t have the resources to make a brand new Street Fighter on a next gen console. Even then, looking at the time gap between 2 and 3 as well as 3 and 4, I would expect SF5 in about five years.

    1. If Capcom had any interest in the Legends series we’d would’ve been had the third instead of there being such a long gap between 2nd game and the announcement (and subsequent cancellation of third game).

  4. All abord the Hype Train! Next stop: sometime in 2014!
Until they have some specific details to share, beeing told that a developer develops gives me nothing.

  5. Of course Ace Attorney is in the works… it’s the only Capcom game that sells.

Wonder why Capcom won’t make a Megaman game?

    1. well monster Hunter is a big seller also. and for Mega Man Legends, well the development team has pretty much left, including the producer of the game.

      1. It’s about the money. If they don’t spend a lot of money to make the Ace Attorney games then they don’t need to sell as much. I doubt they slave over the production of Ace Attorney, so they don’t need to sell a lot of copies.

Ace Attorney’s ROI must be pretty good…
and I forgot about Monster Hunter. So Capcom has Ace Attorney and Monster Hunter…that’s pretty sad; just two games…

  6. It’ll be a Megaman game. You play as multiple Capcom employees and take turns pissing on Megaman. It’s unbeatable because the final boss is the fanbase, and your only form of attack is blaming everything on them.

    1. Considering the fanbase gave not a single damn about the Legends series in comparsion to the Classic,X,Zero, & Battle Network series that’s not a too far off statement.

    1. Makes sense that way people who don’t have a 3DS or a WiiU will have to buy Nintendo’s platforms to play Capcom IP’s on them.

  7. Y’all want to know why Wii U just got doom and gloom articles today? Because the Xbone got a latest issue something with leakage. In order to cover up the issue, Microsoft and Pacter release something negative about the Wii U. That’s why.

  8. Capcom has showed me that awesome games on dev are mostly cancelled due to some unknown reasons
So dont build up hopes as this assholes end up cancelling Megaman twice and making crappy DLC(Activation) for Marvel vs Capcom 3

  9. Surprise would only be because of the following points:

    1. All games are made exclusively for our empire…

    2. Rebooting Resident Evil entirely, ignoring RE7…

    3. Entirely new IPs…

And I agree with Miss Hairy Armpits, release the damn game in the west already!

Even if it only sells 1/4 of the sold units in our Homeworld, it’s still over 1 million units…

      1. I DONT PLAY GAMES LIKE THAT ZZZZZZZZ

MY TYPE IS ADVENTURE, PLATFORMS, SHOOTERS, HACK N SLASH, BEAT M UPS, OR SOMETHING THAT HAS ACTION IN IT.

I DONT CARE ABOUT NOVEL GAMES TBH

  10. Yeah I’m not holding my breath about this, Capcom doesn’t trust it’s western ace attorney fans at all, never released edgeworth II in the west and they trusted us so little that they only released the last ace attorney game on the eshop, no physical copy. Don’t even know how many copies it sold because vgchartz only logs physical sales.

  11. ASURAS WRATH IT SHOULD BE CONTINUITED ON PS4 THE BEST GAME EVER I GIEVE MY LIFE FOR THAT GAME.THANKS CAPCOM YOU ARE THE BEST
