Ex Epic Games designer Cliff Bleszinski has taken to Twitter to express his love of Nintendo in a world of free-to-play and monetized games. Bleszinski has praised the Kyoto based company before on Twitter and has previously stated that he is a big fan of Super Mario 3D World. However, it seems as though he has forgotten about Nintendo’s forthcoming free-to-play title, Steel Diver.
I love that in a world of free to play- how are you monitizing- data analytics- A/B testing- Nintendo is still like “fun first, bitches.”

some nintendo games are good. and fun. but there are a lot of fun and good games that are not nintendo as well. then there are a lot of good and deep games. that’s where nintendo doesn’t win.
Nintendo has mother series, which have tons of dark tones and deep stories. Super Paper mario (though not favorite game) had a great story to it. Something like pokemon which is simple to everyone can be a very complex series. Nintendo can can make fun game with simple approachs but they can become deep, in gameplay and story.
Correction to your statement: Nintendo HAD the Mother series. They hardly do shit with the series anymore other than re-release older titles.
Except for Mother 3. They won’t even release that game into the states.

I absolutely adore the Super Mario 3D World graphics and I’m an adult. It’s ever so nice to play something laid back :)

I was playing Angry Birds GO! On my new Kindle Fire…. they wanted me to pay $50 for a new go-kart… FIFTY DOLLARS!!!… I deleted the game off of my tablet after I saw that..

Well I played the original Angry Birds and had no trouble playing the whole game. Didn’t see a single micro transaction…this is the first time I have seen something like this come from the Angry Birds developers.

that’s why I HATE “free” to play games. at least the very rare ninetndo ones like the upcoming steeldiver don’t do that.
I still have that angrybirds………I just get the free vehicles that you BUY with fake money. and the game cheats im 844 vs 840cc AND they are faster! and I barely hit anything. also………….meh. its fun for a while then feels like a CHORE to race the same thing over and over so you can uprade the kart and actually PROGRESS with unlocking the charcters.
this starts once you reach the AIR tracks. then the next one is one with stunts but I need about 20 thousand to unlock the last guy with the required cc and then spend another few hours so I can buy the Cheapest ( probably wil be around 15k the next time) kart so you can race in the next stage.
cant wait till ONLINE though………….that would basically be the only thing I play in that game
As soon as I saw that it had the ridiculous prices for karts, I said screw it. I’m not supporting this game. I would have understood if the karts were like $.99 or at MOST $5, but $50? That is a scam. Think of all the little kids who play the game on their parent’s tablets who “accidentally” buy the karts. THATS who the scam is for.

He is right! This is the one thing that Nintendo does very well. I just got TlozAlbw and its fun, it doesnt have any of those annoyin 40 min cutscenes, seriously cutscene using in games generally should just die, devs nowadays put too much effort on those vids that dont really do nothing for gameplay . Nintendo is also one of those “cool” companies that doesnt make games for nerds(like valve or bethesda).

That would kill two birds with on stone. It would give the Wii U a badly needed EXCULSIVE FPS and dispel the myth of it being underpowered as I’m sure Unreal 4 whenever and wherever it happens will be running on the newest iteration of Unreal Engine 4

So far I don’t dislike the DLC’s that Nintendo has made, though Luigi U copy paste boss fights were a mild disappointment.
Luigi U was probably the best DLC ever made for a video game in terms of quality though. Think of all the DLC’s that were $10 or $20 that added two or three maps and missions to the game. Luigi U was a BRAND NEW GAME. Copy Paste boss fights might be a let down, but it is an impressive DLC to say the least.

It’s true really. So many people focus on graphics and making money off micro transactions they forget what games are about: having fun. While graphics make a game look better, some of the best games are more artistic or minimalist in style. And micro-transactions are just shit. I’m not gonna pay to get the next level in Candy Crush or whatever. Fuck that.
I think he means Free To Play like those games that start bombarding you with “If you pay money you can use this option” or “get that benefit” the second you open them, thus the mention of the microtransaction thing.
Their fun is limited. Once when anyone beats a Nintendo game in a week or less, 90% of the time you will never play it again. I had Call of Duty for Wii U for more than a year now. And I still play it almost every day. It’s the best rip off game ever.
Not true, I play every game at least twice. There are reasons why I have 500+ hours on both pokemon and brawl. (Other than having no life,) because theg are fun as hell.
