1. I must say this at the top:

NO KID ICARUS UPRSING??? WHAT! THIS IS INVALID ! lol………seriously that should be at least 10th.

also, imo, mk7 shouldn’t be THAT high up.

1. I agree with most of their opinions and while Kid Icarus is a good game, it never got the advertising and fanbase it deserved. Still, this is THEIR Opinion.

2. I was going to say the list is great (I might reorder it a little) but you are right. KIUprising must go on the list!!

I think since the controls were so innovative, you either loved them or hated them. I thought they were amazing.

1. I like it, but it’s worthless compared to the original. That little love affair the 3DS had with episodic gameplay was awful. It ruined Paper Mario Sticker Star.

1. Aw god, that game… I like Luigi’s Mansion, but just like you said, the episodic game play ruined it. I never got in to Paper Mario, mostly because it was not Paper Mario.

1. I honestly don’t think I have ever been more disappointed in my life than I was when I played Sticker Star. To this day I still haven’t progressed passed world 3. It’s such tripe and the first two especially were utterly perfect (I still like SPM). I was astounded that the series could decline that much.

Yeah, I hated that as well. It killed any sort of mood the game built. I know the idea was short little bursts of playtime, but you can go to the home menu, you can close the 3DS. You could just SAVE and then turn it off if they went down that road. There were so many better options.

1. Battlefield is noting compared to Ocarina of Time. That game was boss. A Link Between Worlds looks great. Played it on my uncle’s 3DS and enjoyed it.

2. Why did you compare two different games? Battlefield is a first person shooter while Zelda is an action adventure. Get off the Internet because you’re nothing more than a broken record who insults people for liking a company you hate. Your sorry excuses for trolling don’t work either. If you like Microsoft, that’s fine. But, you shouldn’t force us to start hating Nintendo because you like Microsoft.

1. I know there’s barley any lag (at least for me). It’s funny because the online multiplayer is a lot like Smash Bros.

1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

The online in MK7 is just as smooth, I hope Smash Brothers for both our machines are atleast 4 times better than the Wii…

1. The WiiU’s online makes the Wii’s online seem like an old junk car…well, it was horrible…a few games did ok, but the Wii was a horrible online machine.

1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Excellent, then I will have no trouble beating every single one of you up…

1. Not surprising how 2013’s most overrated game took 1st.

But kudos to Fire Emblem and Bravely Default for placing so high on the list.

1. Yes I have. Got it in December and played through it once. Most boring Zelda game I’ve ever played, so I ended up selling it back. I immediately went back to playing Wind Waker.

1. Hm. I personally didn’t find it to be that boring and I actually really liked the game. The only boring part was trying to beat that damn octoball mini game to get the Piece of Heart.

2. SherlockWillFightBilbo

Well I appreciate the honest feedback, rather than criticizing a game heavily when you haven’t played it.
Could it be you just don’t like 2D Zelda games?

1. I hope you’re not referring to me. I love the 3DS. It’s currently my favorite system out there. Fire Emblem Awakening, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, and Bravely Default are some of my favorites.

1. I hope you’re not talking about me. I did play it. Just once through, and ended up giving it back. To be honest, it was my first 2D Zelda, and I think I can say that I don’t like the style.

1. Yeah. I’m glad they didn’t put 3DLand higher and I agree that ALBW is so overrated. I mean it was a good game just like 3DLand but it wasn’t THAT good.

2. I have not played some of these, but LBW was my GOTY last year, right above Pikmin 3. Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem and Mario Kart 7 is also pretty high on the list.

2. Good list. Fire emblem and a link between worlds are the two best without question. Which one is better? I can’t decide

1. Luigi’s Mansion was okay, but I agree with Mario Kart 7, playing it all the time! Cannot wait for MK8, looks so much better.

1. SherlockWillFightBilbo

I stopped playing MK7 a year or so ago because I got KI: Uprising, Luigi’s Mansion, 3D Land, Pokemon Y, two Professor Layton games, Zelda ALBW, Dragon Quest IX, and then a bunch of Wii U games… but I’ve recently gone back to it and played for tens of hours in anticipation of Mario Kart 8 haha.

1. I got my 3DS in February 2013. Since then I have completed Pokémon Y, 3D Land, Professor Layton (Miracle Mask), Zelda LBW and Luigi’s Mansion. I also played quite a bit Kid Icarus, but I could never get into it, might try later. Along with Fire Emblem (still haven’t completed it, currently playing), Animal Crossing, and a bunch of Wii U games, I have played quite a bit of Mario Kart 7. Cannot wait for MK8!

3. Zero Escape and OoT 3D all deserve a place on there – and AA vs PL would be on a personal favourites list of mine. Pokémon is too high but does deserve the list. Seems like a jRPG or two could be dropped. I think the top two are the stand-out games.

4. No Kid Icarus = dumb list.
In addition to being of comparable quality to every other game on the list (unjustified complaints about the controls notwithstanding), it’s by far the most original and inventive game I’ve played in years. There’s nothing else like it.

5. Replace Bravely Disappoint with Kid Icarus Uprising. None of the other games make you replay it five times just to finish it, like BD.

1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

The first boss, the Clock boss was fun to battle but I think I enjoyed the Ice levels the most…

6. This list was likely made by someone who’s never played a 3DS game and made the list using Metacritic or something similar. Otherwise, Street Fighter IV, Kid Icarus, Resident Evil: Revelations and Snake Eater would have made the list, not to mention all the indie games they left out.

1. Don’t go around accusing ppl of not owning a 3ds, etc. just cus ur favorite game didn’t make it on the list or they don’t like the same genres as u! There’s some games I liked that didn’t make it on the list, and you don’t see me crying about it–and I’m 8 and a girl! -.- ugh.

1. If you’re actually an 8 year old, I wouldn’t expect you to understand how ridiculous this list is. You’re not even old enough to play most of the games on the list, let alone three of the games that belong on this list.

1. Wow talk abt discrimination! -,-
you sure got a selfish and self absorbed way of thinking. seriously i own and beat all these games and can even tell u the end, theyre not that hard to beat. i played kid icarus metal gear solid cave story 3d (still playing this) tekken and a bunch more that i liked that didnt make it on the list, but do you see me winning abt it no. you can learn a few things from this 8 year old girl. :D just cus someone doesnt like the same things you do doesnt mean they haven’t played or own it. -,-

1. You ought to spend less time playing video games and more time paying attention in English class. Your grammar is atrocious.

There’s only one reason these games are on this list; popularity. Sites like Gametrailers have no reason to highlight higher quality, less popular games because they don’t increase the traffic to their website. All anybody has to do is say ‘ALBW is the best game evah’ and Nintendo fans flock to it. It’s sheep mentality.

Look at how far up Bravely Default is on the list. Anyone that’s played that game knows it’s one of the weaker RPGs on the system, but because it’s made by Square Enix, has a high Metacritic rating and impressive sales, it’s suddenly the fourth best game on the system.

This list is clickbait, pure and simple.

1. Takes one to know one. In lieu of reading the entire comment thread, you based your assessment of my argument based on the first two sentences.

The term you’re searching for is ‘Straw Man Argument,’ which I freely admit to engaging in, because why the fuck should I use logic to argue with someone claiming to be an 8 year old that can’t spell or use proper punctuation?

7. Yea I don’t see the appeal in Bravely Default I just couldn’t get into it, though the artstyle is pretty. At least from what I played in the demo.

Though I’m glad to see Etrian Odyssey on that list, a once niche series is becoming a bit more mainstream. I love the sparse story in those games, makes you question the few times an important piece of text is shown and use your imagination to piece together the overall scope of things.

Shin Megami Tensei IV was alright, but gets pretty repititive pretty fast due to the enviroment for me,would of been nice if they had more varied locations and overworlds(I’ve been spoiled by Etrian Odyssey and their unique stratums/floors). They do switch up the overworld a few times, but it hardly lasts very long and by then you’re pretty much midway/close to finishing the game depending on the route you take.

8. For me:
1. Shin Megami Tensei IV
2. Kid Icarus
3. Zero Escape: Virtual Last Reward
4. Zelda ALBW
5, MK7
6. Etrian Odyssey
7. Animal Crossing
8. Fire Emblem Awakening
9. Luigi Mansion
10. Super Mario 3d land

10. I am a bit surprised that Kid Icarus isn’t in the Top 10, though I will admit that the charm has worn off a bit since release. It started out as my favorite 3DS game, but the sheer quality of everything since has forced it down to probably 8th on my list.

Still a good game though.

11. Mmh… Yeah, a legit top 10 I guess.
OoT 3D and Virtue’s Last Reward should be there though imo, but I guess they didn’t consider it as “exclusives”.
