Nintendo of Europe and product distributor Bergsala have today offered alternative support for those in Scandinavian countries without a Club Nintendo account, wishing to participate in the Mario Kart 8 bonus promotion.
Announced last month as part of a special Mario Kart 8 Nintendo Direct, the promotion required consumers to register the game to a Club Nintendo account before July 31, in order to receive the free Wii U title. But countries that do not currently support Club Nintendo were left in the dark, without official support.
In an announcement posted today for Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway, consumers who purchase the upcoming racing title will receive a special pin code, which can then be registered to a particular website. Once registered, fans will be issued with a download code for their requested free Wii U title. The ten titles on offer are exactly the same as Europe and include The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3, Wii Party U and Nintendo Land, just to name a few. For more information, you can access Nintendo’s official Scandinavian websites.

That’s fantastic news. (Also, It was confirmed for Australia as well, same deal as UK. Just thought I’d bring it up.)
Thanks, I was about to update the post but realised Australia has a Club Nintendo. This is alternative support for the countries that do not have a Club Nintendo. :)
Oh yeah, sorry I should have worded it correctly. After the direct, they said ‘Australian News is on the way’ and I was just stating that it was confirmed for anyone who was unsure. Really sorry for any confusion!
Ha, no worries! :)
That pale gay dude who thinks he a Commander must be happy
WTF man NA has a shitty selection. We only get 3 games. We also get wii party U but I don’t even consider that garbage a game.
Aaaah thanks a bunch! Though this depends on if my copy I’ve pre-ordered will be from Denmark or the UK (usually from UK)
You might be in a sticky situation then, since UK receives a Club Nintendo code, while Scandinavian countries receive a special PIN-code?
That’s what I’ve gathered from this article at least.
suomi mainitttu haistakaa paska
I can understand norwegian, swedish and danish, since they’re similar.
Finnish however is something completely different .-.
YEEEAAAAAHH!!!1!!
Looks like I’ll finally get Monster Hunter, as that is, along with Olympics and Game&Wario, the only game I’m missing. Good work!
Vajert…
So, Nintendo of Europe actually IS supporting those countries without official Club Nintendo support, whilst American countries are left in the Dark, specifically ALL of South America. We’ve been craving to get any love from Nintendo, but we don’t even get technical support…
I can’t even register my games or consoles…. it just sucks for us…
yeah =/ sad for us..
someday I’ll go out Brazil, it’s a shit country that is forgotten by the entire world, it’s not a good country to live in too. Man, how I hate to seeing games costing around 100 dollars in the stores ¬¬””
I have all of those games, except for mario and sonic at sochi, but oh well, free game is always a free game.
Eh, that’s pretty cool, but you’d think they could’ve gotten Club Nintendo rolling for those guys too. It doesn’t even have to include physical rewards, how hard could it be?
What about other EU countries that doesn’t have club nintendo? Greece for example
As if the people of Greece besides Nazi scum have the money for it today…
This article is good news for you!

@Sony Commander. That’s not my name in the 3ds though..
I see…
I’ll be on saturday then around the same time…
Alright
Good news for Commander!
I think it’s pretty safe to say, I’m getting my Wii U soon then…
hope they do something for latin american
Fekkin awesome. Ever since I heard about this promotion I’ve been in contact with Bergsala. The first one I talked to didn’t even know about this promotion. Now it’s all in the sunny side again. Awesome. I’ll be laying me hands on that game then. Cheers.
I did the same, contacted Bergsala that why we in Scandinavia aren’t eligible for the promotion and told them that because of this i’m forced to buy my copy from UK. With certain tricks it’s possible to get the benefit anyway.
I guess we get the free game because of our collective whining =) My choice is Wind Waker i guess even though i’ve played it through two times on GC. Hard to decide…
Not to complain, but why do all the other countries get better game choices than the NA? -.-
YEEEEEEESSSSS!!!
I’m getting Pikmin 3 alongside Mario Kart 8! :D
It’s good to see that a lot more people can take advantage of this promotion, but why does the US only get to pick from WW HD, Pikmin 3, Wii Party U, or Milked Super Mario Bros. while everywhere else gets 6 other options? That seems a little unfair.
BTW my free download is probably gonna be Wii Party U- that looks like it could be a fun game to play with friends (especially on drunken nights).
Finland is not a scandinavian country, fuckinb amerifat
