Shiggy from the NeoGAF forums has posted a ton of artwork from a range of canceled Silicon Knights projects. Some of the most interesting batches of images come from the canceled follow-up to Eternal Darkness on the Gamecube, Eternal Darkness 2. Some of the artwork was shown when Shadow of the Eternals was revealed. That game was delayed indefinitely due to lack of funding on Kickstarter. You can check out all the artwork, right here.

each genres are FEW YEARS BEFORE NEXT ONE……some being EVERY GEN.
Mario having 4 different genres (probably more if you count parties and sports) is kinda proving his point that nintendo is milking the Mario franchise. CoD is being milked in that we get one every year. Activision isn’t making a CoD Kart racer just for the sake of getting another CoD out there. Mario is getting milked in that we get a Mario game pretty much every year in the form of a golf, tennis, sidescroller, or actual 3d game.
Problem is…. most of those games end out turning great. Call of Duty… not so much.
So yeah, Mario isn’t technically milked.
Mario (and company) as a character might have been “milked” throughout the years BUT in a good way. it is nothing comparable to the level of Cod and AC.

We might see the Mario character repeated in a lot of games but as people pointed out these games are actually different from other Mario games. Some types only appear one per console generation.
Third and most importantly, Mario games (and Nintendo games in general) are probably among the highest quality games a gamer can play.
They should not stop (EVER) making their “traditional” games, There is a reason why Nintendo has been around for so many years. Personally, I would only ask them to be more ambitious.
