Here’s The Mario Kart 8 UK Launch Advert

It’s almost time to head out to the track and take your shiny new bike or kart for a spin in Mario Kart 8. But before you throttle down the gorgeous new and retro tracks, Nintendo UK has uploaded the game’s launch advert for Europe. Unlike the tongue-in-cheek US adverts, this one’s straight-up gameplay with a few review scores and captions added for good measure. You can check out our own US review for the popular karting title, here. Mario Kart 8 releases on May 30 for North America and Europe.

      1. Only if it’s to dig the grave they’ll put the haters’ hopes of this game failing in.
        Deal with it.

  1. Hahaha the game never saves the WalkingDeadU #Exposed#NintenNazisMad?#[Insert game]WillSaveTheScamU#LoLZ#RehashTendo#IwataPleaseUnderstandWiiuDead

  2. I’m still trying to figure out if America gets all the same games for registering mk8? Someone help a brother out

        1. Ah, that is quite unfortunate. I am deeply sorry. If you have a physical copy of the games, perhaps you could sell one or several while keeping the digital copies for yourself. Although I’m not sure if save data is saved onto the disk itself, or to the system memory or SD card, like on the Wii, so my suggestion may very well be entirely useless.

Either way, I am happy to have been able to help you.

          1. Save data for Video games NEVER save to game disc. Even on a re-writeable disc that would cause problems, and as far as I’m aware, neither MS, SONY, or Nintendo use re-writeable disc.

  3. Nintendo better advertise Mario Kart 8 from May 29th for Japan and 30th in the other countries up to the end of the year.

      1. I believe he’s saying that thr cost of £50 for MK8 is very expensive thus the “free” game is not really free. :$

        1. Ah. But if I am not mistaken, aren’t some of the 1st party titles the same price? I checked and it seems several are about £40. So if we say that one were to buy Mario Kart 8 and get a download code for a £40 or even £50 game, one would still be getting £30-£50 worth of game for free. In other words, yes, they are paying a bit more for the game, but it is essentially like buying MK8 for £40 and getting the other choice of game for more or less £10. And getting a Wii U game for £10 still sounds like a good deal to me. So I’m not sure what the OP’s complaint is, exactly.

  4. Oh thank God they did a decent launch advert that shows straight up gameplay and explains what its all about. None of that “lets get the whole family together including aunty and the pet dog gatherd round the t.v waving our wiimotes around grinning like f***ing idiots” routine. Now if Nintendo uk would be so kind as to advertise MK8 like in the launch advert over the next few months the wooly headed masses might actually start to take notice of the Wii U and start giving a shit.

  5. Epic fail advert yet again!
The adverts for Mario Kart Wii in the UK were how to launch a game!
Featuring famous people and their families playing the game in 2 player and 4 player mode.
It is all well and good showing off its review scores, they did that for Super Mario 3D World and it still got outsold by Knack in the UK and Europe!
    Reviews from critics mean zip!
Nintendo need to launch another advert before May 30th showing how the game is played and looks in 2 player and 4 player mode.
