A number of reports are coming in that US retailer Sears has begun selling copies of Mario Kart 8 early. Users on Twitter and Reddit state that they were able to get copies of the acclaimed kart racer. The game is already being sold early in stores around Paris so it will be interesting to see if the rest of the world follows suit.

I barely even knew that Sears was still around. All of the ones near me have closed up shop. It’s almost worth driving a little to go pick one up, but…..the release date is nearly here so I guess I’ll wait. I’m definitely stoked for this one and I’m not sure if I’m the only one, but I’ll definitely be using the Gamecube Wii U remote that they’re coming up with once it’s out
Yea they’re not as popular as they were a couple of decades ago. They used to be huge. Anyway I’ll wait two more days. I’d rather have the $10 gas card.

Two damn days and then I can get my hands on this game. I decided to pre-order from Game Stop to get the poster.
I can’t buy it early because I don’t get paid until the Friday when it’s released everywhere. Oh well, it’s only the day after tomorrow. And I’ve gotten good at waiting for the things I want.
I don’t get money til Friday myself. Thank God the 1st falls on a freaking weekend day, so I’ll get my check on the Friday before Sunday. I’m gonna be heading straight for my Wii U’s eShop once the money is in. Hopefully, the game itself will be for sale on the eShop for download that early in the morning. If not, just have to wait for the afternoon to download it.
I love how this never seems to happen with other games, and people still doubts Nintendo quality

Amazon.de already shipped their Mario Kart stocks yesterday. Mine arrived early this morning. I don’t think this is because of the Steelbook Edition but the holiday here in Germany tomorrow.
my cousin got his copy today and will play Mario Kart 8 tonight. Where his leave tomorrow is public holidays and the shops close . So it’s understandable they sell the game today

Just went by Sears to pick it up even though i preordered it but the guy said he heard that was going to happen so he made sure they didnt deliver any to his store….what a douche!!!!!!

It’s true I live in Alabama and I picked up my copy on Tuesday from Sears. It’s freaking awesome I just don’t want to go online in case I get banned. Smoked a couple blunts and played the entire game 50cc last night. Can’t wait to play again tonight.

Maybe Nintendo should just go ahead & let people that already own a Wii U download Mario Kart 8 on the eShop. I can’t do it til the 30th, anyway, but that’s no reason the ones that do have money right now have to wait.

This game is superb. Finally a system seller. Pikmin 3 was too weak to sell big numbers of whole consoles by itself. I expect SM3DW to flourish if Mario kart 8 sells a large number of systems.
I actually see Mario Kart 8 helping SM3DW out, too. It might even help sell a couple DKCTF for anyone that likes to use Donkey Kong a lot for MK8 & doesn’t already own DKCTF.
I can definitely see Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze selling well, but those buying the Wii U for Mario Kart 8 will more than likely lean towards SM3DW for its multiplayer fun. Dk:TF should sell well for those buying Mario Kart 8, having previously purchased the Wii U. I can actually see Nintendo doing really well if they play their cards right. Smash Bros, Zelda, Pokemon, Zero, Star fox, Bayonetta 2, X, Sonic boom and a sequel to SM3DW and SM3DL plus Wii Sports Club at retail with extra dlc could bring in huge numbers of sales.
