Nintendo and McDonald’s are set to continue their partnership in the coming months with the release of new Mario Kart 8 Happy Meal toys. At participating U.S McDonald’s stores, Mario Kart fans can grab their favourite characters from the franchise, including brothers Mario and Luigi, along with Bowser, Peach, Yoshi, Toad and Donkey Kong. The official site for the fast food chain lists the popular characters in the next Happy Meal toy listing, after the current toys for How To Train Your Dragon 2 wrap up.
In April, McDonald’s teamed up with Nintendo and Game Freak to bring Pokemon X and Y toys to participating US stores. But even if you didn’t collect them all, you’ll have the opportunity to grab the Mario Kart toys fairly soon. Since How To Train Your Dragon 2 releases early July, the kart toys could be in US McDonald’s later that month. Hopefully we’ll receive more concrete information soon.
They toys actually don’t look bad for how McDonnalds toys go.
Right now, the Pokemon toys are current here in America. They just barely started like a few weeks ago if barely two, not as early as April. So by end May to start June I’ve seen those toys. If there’s Dragon toys coming, it may be soon with the movie just releasing. Mario Kart 8 toys should’ve been out when these Pokemon toys are out, but thankfully Nintendo is still milking this game even after release like they did for 3D World. So Mario Kart 8 is going to drag along its fame possibly until the lying “Summer” release of Smash 3DS.
Excellent! McDonalds is back to having some really good toys. My bro got the Spiderman one based off of the movie a few weeks ago and the eye batteries still work. I’ll look into seeing how many of these I can score and quickly. Luigi and Mario are at the top of the list of course. I guess I’ll just have to keep on going to McDonalds until they bring them in stock.

I remember the days of always looking forward to what kind of toys McDonald’s would have for their Happy Meals when I was growing up in the 90s. My favorite Happy Meal toy was the Animaniacs toy that had the doves using a fire truck. I had such a vivid imagination that I actually used it to pretend I was many different characters that I made up while watching movies, pretending my characters were part of the movie & interacting with the characters of the movie. Hell! I even had an original character for every key movie character that would die at roughly the same time as the movie’s character. When I wasn’t playing video games, I was doing this kind of stuff when watching TV shows & movies. I sometimes get the urge to do it today without the use of a toy, but I manage to keep myself from doing so. Role plays on the internet was my outlet for this childhood habit. Anyway, I’ll definitely try to get a Happy Meal for my son during this time. I bet he’ll enjoy some Mario Kart toys.
