Platinum Explains What Bayonetta Can Do When Wearing Classic Nintendo Outfits

Isao Negishi, who is the director of the original Bayonetta Wii U port, has explained the new abilities Bayonetta gains when wearing classic Nintendo outfits. If Bayonetta wears the Peach outfit then she can summon the mighty Bowser who can “pummel enemies with punches and kicks,” and give a well-timed stomp attack. When Bayonetta dons the Link costume she can use the Master Sword which is created by Wicked Weaves which can split an enemy in half. Finally, if Bayonetta wears the Samus costume she can lift her visor up or down in cutscenes. Both games come bundled together this October.

“I think you can see why I’m not hesitant to call this Wii U port a “Special Editon. This actually isn’t everything new the game has to offer.”

        1. Them, and Sega. It just makes sense, maybe even let then great some third party games for other systems (like rise of nightmares)
They should also get into movies and shows (Netflix exclusives)

It is the same as Shuraba’s. They said that when you are dressed as Link and you equip the Shuraba, it becomes the Master Sword.

No, she uses the arm canon. I think Platinum thought it was obvious that she would use the arm canon, so they didn’t think they’d have to explain that. They chose just to tell you that you can control the visor in cutscenes (which is pretty cool in it’s own right).

I know she uses the arm canon, because I’ve seen gameplay where she uses it.

No, we just spelled it wrong apparently. Who cares? Spelling doesn’t matter as long as you get what someone is saying. I missed the second N. NBD.

              1. pink0crystal0midbus

Yeah, I just copied how you spelled it without thinking. :P I’ve spelled cannon with two N’s my whole life, but when I saw how you spelled it, I didn’t give it a second thought.

Probably, because I really don’t care how you spell it. I’m not one for pointing out or worrying about spelling mistakes. If I can understand what someone is saying without having to put in any extra effort, then they’ve done their job haha!

      1. Which is why I personally call it Rainbow Station, with the N64 version being the actual Rainbow Road.

        1. Too bad they made it shorter… as in the laps…
I loved how the original in the N64 was long and felt like it took forever!!!
Wish they could make an update to make it like that again (speaking about the laps… as it looks I think its awesome)

      1. Somebody’s a fan of me enough to be me. How flattering but pathetic. XD

Believe me, that’s not the real me as Stranga.

    1. Microcock… I know you will never know me, but please… Can you suck my dick? Even once? I have wet dreams of having great sex with Master Chief, and masturbate to Phil Spencer’s hairy penis. Can you please? I would buy all the Kinects if you want!

    2. It’s funny, the kings of hardcore game development love this kiddy stuff in Japan/ Just silly western mindset that associates childhood good memories with childish. Some of you really need to go see a shrink.

  1. Nintendo is my Blood

Haha, the visor? They couldve done so much using the suit of an intergalactic bounty hunter, but instead they say you can… hehe… control a visor? Hilarious

      1. Nintendo is my Blood

I know, but really, of all the abilities after giant Bowser and Master Sword slash that slices enemies in too… they follow it up with the visor

        I mean that was anticlimactic

        1. pink0crystal0midbus

They thought it was a cool ability. The Mastersword is just an aesthetic change by the way. The Master Sword move set is the exact same moveset as the Shuraba.

    1. Nintendo is my Blood

I Link she looks better in the Varia Suit and the Hero’s Cloths
but Peach’s dress looks horrible, you can’t tell who the costume belongs to like the other ones do

      1. pink0crystal0midbus

It’s a Pink dress with stars from the Mario game coming off of it. I think everyone will get the reference.

    1. Nintendo is my Blood

Okay, I think we are kinda being a bit selfish, they did afterall, remake Bayonetta 1 in HD with these costumes and include it with Bayonetta when no one asked

      So it is really cool

      1. Sure, it’s really cool they included a remake of Bayonetta 1, but that’s no excuse for crappy costumes I guess. If they were going to include costumes, they could have put a little more effort into them. I’d rather have no costumes at all than half assed ones like these. But then again, that’s only my personal opinion. If others like the costumes, lucky them.

          1. How would that be a middle finger if they never did say it was coming? It was all a surprise so if they hadn’t remade it we would still be in the same place.

            1. “We were going to put the game over to Wii U, but due to complaints about character costumes, we are taking it out”. *puts up middle finger* Like that I guess. Lol

              1. Fortunately, the developers don’t have the mentality of a grade schooler, so a behaviour like that wouldn’t be very likely to happen in any case.
Besides, I’m still not quite sure what extra costumes have to do with porting the game. They’re literally, well, -extras-. Not obligatory for the game, not an important part of the game.

          2. Interesting, but what’s your problem? I simply stated my opinion, what’s there to get so offended about? It’s not like you’re forced to agree with what I said.

        1. pink0crystal0midbus

They put a lot of effort into these costumes, I’m sure. I bought the book Eyes of Bayonetta and read through how long it took them to get costumes down….took them MONTHS to find the right styles and looks for characters.

I seriously doubt the team would slap together Nintendo inspired costumes as fast as they could. They obviously took their time with it, you just don’t happen to like them.

          1. I didn’t say anything about the original costumes or characters though. Of course it takes lots of time to create characters from scratch, and they did turn out great in Bayonetta, lots of respect to the developers for that, without doubt. But I think you would agree with me when I say these costumes are literally nothing compared to original outfits of the characters.
I’ll admit my wording seemed rather wrong though, I’m sure they did put effort into the costumes, what I was trying to say was more like, it doesn’t seem they put much effort into making them look especially good? That doesn’t really sound much better either I guess, but I don’t know, they just look really bad to me. But as I’ve already said, that’s just my personal opinion. If there are people who like the costumes, good for them.
I’d like to thank you for giving me a decent reply though. Getting a nice reply for expressing an opinion that criticizes Nintendo even in the slightest way doesn’t seem to happen very often anymore around here. So yea, thanks.

  2. lol there trying too hard to convince nintendo fans and fanboys to buy this game. as for me am not buying this game for 60 bucks. i’ll wait until it becomes 18 bucks in a few weeks.

    1. Nintendo is my Blood

Are you still here big nose? What about your rant, or was that a lie too

You can’t even quit right, Narutard

    2. bayonetta is a M rated game and you complaint about the “lack” of mature games on wii u. lol you’re pathetic also i don’t think your parents will buy a M rated game

    3. sasroi: wants M rated games, bashes them!!
curiously, this sasori scum wants to see more skin…
      what does that mean:
      #sasoriisbutthurt

    4. your brain is in your nose, isn’t it? for 60 bucks you get the bayo 1 port!!! also i think you’re just waiting for your parents to buy you the game!!!
and it’s very surprising that you didn’t bashed this game yet, because the main character is a woman. GIRL HATER!!!

        1. Nintendo is my Blood

Silly lamatsucubo, if his brain was in his nose, it would be big

but it is in his asshole, not his XL nose

    5. *until my parents give me money to buy the game
bayonetta 2 is a wii u exclusive and if you’re intersted in the game that means that you’re going to support nintendo, what happened to the fag who said that we won’t support nintendo games and would buy 3rd party games? exposed

    6. Still broke and dumb as fuck and BTW, how was your suspension dipshit? Do you want another? All you have to do is not ask but continue being an idiot for our amusement until we get bored.

    7. And what does your dumbass mean “try to convince”? 1. They have already done that and 2. Its part of their job to convince a good product to people you idiot.

    8. Wow, you are the biggest hypocrite on this site, aren’t you?
I can’t wait to see people make forums on how much of a dumbass you are on places like 4Chan, ED and even freaking Youtube.

Kid, you’re pissed off because Nintendo didn’t get a Naruto game or any of the generic shooters the other kids have.

Wise up, grow some balls because clearly, you don’t have any.

    9. Valve Admiral GLaDOS

Well they are doing a better job at convincing fans than you could ever do, ever. Nice try Chris Chan 2.0.

        1. Valve Admiral GLaDOS

Next thing you know it, when it’s his birthday, he’s going to tell us “Hey Nintendrones, worship me because today is a holiday dedicated to me.”
Also to the it is a holiday. It’s called “Sasori’s Forever Alone Day”.

            1. Valve Admiral GLaDOS

The day where he exposes himself twice as much and then goes to the corner to apply some soothing cream for that pain he has in his pathetic ape rear side.

          1. and where’s the failed church of saori now?
maybe they are playing with a ps move… in their asses!

    10. Wonderful 101 has still not hit $18 so you will be waiting more than two weeks.

This game is WELL worth the $60, especially because it comes with TWO WHOLE GAMES instead of one.

      1. 33:29/30 listen to his “macho” voice lol
i think sasori also known as jesuCHRIS CHAN loves to be butthurt.
he is saying we do not understand reality. Reality is in the eye of the beholder, what he calls reality is lot of laughs for all of us

  3. I can see why Nintendo wants Bayonetta to look ultra risque in that Peach cosplay for developer Platinum Games. Nosebleed is the most common side-effect.

  4. pink0crystal0midbus

When she is dressed as Peach and she summons demons to attack, she summons the arms and legs of BOWSER instead of Madame Buterfly! I am sooo stoked for these costumes on Bayonetta!!! :D

  5. I only really like the link costume, the samus suit doesn’t really fit her figure and it just looks weird and the peach costume…do I really need to explain

    1. pink0crystal0midbus

In game, you won’t notice how the costumes don’t fit her body type. You’ll be too busy shooting with Samus’ arm cannon and cutting people up with the Mastersword.

      1. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m gonna be playing as her default costume 90% of the time. It fits her perfectly. If I had to choose any other though, it would be Link.

        1. pink0crystal0midbus

I want to play as Bayonetta in her Peach costume so I can summon Bowser’s body parts lol!!

  6. Am I the only one who thinks she looks kinda dumb in those outfits? Specifically, the Peach outfit. The way she wears it just kind of takes every last little bit of femininity out of it. Maybe it’s just me.

    1. Nope it isn’t just you, but these suits aren’t forced on us so I’m ok with them, I’ll try them out but I’ll be playing with her default skin for the majority of the game.

    2. pink0crystal0midbus

How does a sexy Bayonetta take out femininity from a pink dress? Your saying she looks masculine?

      1. I guess I do think she looks masculine. Not at all in her default suit, but in those outfits. I don’t know, it’s kinda hard to explain. I don’t really find her very attractive in the first place, so that is more than likely the cause.

    3. To be fair, not very many people can make the Peach outfit look appropriate. It’s as if it were made for her and only her. Like for example on Tekken Tag 2 Wii U, most of the women just look plain stupid in the Peach costume. It’s hilarious.

  7. The Samus costume has the ability of adding an animated visor…

I am very okay with that for some reason.

  8. Lol just noticed they added spherical parts on the samus suit for bayos boobs, it looks fucking atrocious

  9. I might have wrote this same thing before, but MAN……Bayonetta looks like she needs to gain some weight in those 3 drawings. She looks like a skeleton with skin.
