Next Level Games Reiterates It Would Love To Work On Zelda Or Mario

Next Level Games has reiterated that it would love to work on The Legend of Zelda or Super Mario series. In a recent interview, studio producer Ken Yeeloy expressed his desire to make a new installment of either title. Next Level Games was entrusted with creating a direct sequel to Luigi’s Mansion – and it delivered. The developer designs games exclusively for Nintendo platforms.

“I would love to work on a Zelda or Mario title,” said Yeeloy. “Those are the pinnacles of Nintendo IP and I think it would be a lot of fun to go through the process of building one of those games. Trying to come up with new mechanics and puzzles that fit those franchises would be a huge challenge and would be extremely rewarding to see in the end product.”

Too many zelda games. Please dont give our beloved series COD syndrome. Still, I’d be interestedb in seeing how other companies treat the IP’s.

      1. Assassin Creed keeps the quality with a yearly release, I’m still sick of the game play. That’s why I have taken a break from it.

          1. Didn’t really like 3, but 4 was quite good. Of course, it becomes boring after so many games, but the quality of the games are quite good, still!

      2. It’s actually down to the community.
People say “Oh it’s the same game every year” yet they are now buying a new Battlefield every year. Call of Duty is still a good game but like games such as League of Legends and Minecraft, the community just ruins them.

              1. Advanced warfare is the shit! WTF about a 3ds release! Loved the originals and original fire emblems! Best fucking strategy games ever! And they are for the GBA, tells u something about the simplicity of games

    1. They are nit saying they get to do it, they just want to do it. And it’s normal with two Zelda games per console, so maybe Nintendo will trust them, and outsource handheld Zelda to them, while the Zelda team works on Zelda U!

      1. Bethesda would have to prove themselves with a good wii u adventure game first.

One that isn’t a port of TES.

        1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

The Bethesdians have proven themselves to be Anti Nintendo several times…

I don’t want them anywhere near anything Nintendo related ever…

  2. One way to keep a series fresh is to cycle it through different devs and Nintendo certainly has that option, but you probably just can’t jump straight to Zelda or Mario. Next Level Games should probably work on a bigger title before we hand them those kind of reins.

    1. Well, technically, NLG has already worked on Mario with the Strikers games as well as the Luigi’s Mansion sequel.

Hey, maybe in a similar matter, they can do the Sunshine sequel.

    2. Yeah, I agree! I’d like to see them work on similar games, maybe a Paper Mario that is Paper Mario, like the two first ones! Maybe a more open Luigi Mansion 3 for Wii U, or another good Mario spin-off!

  3. Though I only played through the first mansion in Dark Moon, I still think the first Luigi’s Mansion was better (my niece agrees). I hate the way all of the ghosts glow and look comical. I miss the portrait ghosts from the first game. And the ways that you could get a gold, silver or bronze portrait for vacuuming them up. And lets not forget, it’s SO much better playing on a regular tv.

    1. LM2 is such a bland game. All the enemies and bosses are the same. What happened to the fun and unique enemies from the original game?

        1. Then Miyamoto did a bad job of overwatching. He’s a game-developing genius but even he can make mistakes.

      1. It had just about the same amount of different ghosts and bosses as the original. Guess you never played both to realize that so *commence unnecessary troll*

        1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Indeed, and I actually prefer the bosses on the second game because they were also a bit more challenging…

        2. Quantity doesn’t mean quality. LM2 had terrible enemies. And no, the original had more unique bosses and enemies.

    2. Only the first mansion? lol, you missed out on the best parts of the game then. Luigi’s Mansion was absolutely amazing, great music, great level design and puzzles, it was an absolute joy to play from start to finish. Can’t believe the impatience that some people have.

      1. It’s not impatience. It’s having too many games to choose from. And having no time to play them all.

  4. Fuck yeah, I’d love to see these guys tackle a 3DS Zelda or Mario game. I bet it would rule.

  5. Miyamoto should go to them for the new Starfox, since he still don’t have a studio to develop it.

  6. I believe that they should let them do mario galaxy 3 or sunshine 2 I think they will get more freedom to build the game

  7. Spin-offs yes, but main series no.

Luigi’s Mansion series proves that EAD is far superior to Next Level in every way.

  8. They should try other Mario Spin-offs, or maybe Ice Climbers, as I’d love to se a new game for them!

Awesome idea. A 3DS Ice Climbers game with a 3D environment would be cool. I could see them working on a Game & Watch side scrolling platformer (or maybe an UP-scrolling platformer). How about let them work on their very own R.O.B game?

I would love to see them do something “new” instead of trying to rework a the Mario or Zelda formula.

      1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Retoru Studios is much better suited for an Ice Climbers game on the Wii U considering that’s why they were created in the first place, to recreate “RETRO” games…

    1. Yet you keep saying how powerful your PC is compared to the Wii U but then saying PC Gaming sucks…. So in other words, butthurt much?

    2. Valve Admiral GLaDOS

That’s because your retardation keeps you from evolving. In the end, evolution wins, which is why I exposed you once again without the the need of having to do anything. Exposed.

    1. pink0crystal0midbus

No, not a remake. A third entry would be nice. If Mario Strikers or Mario Strikers Charged ends up on the Wii U, it should be through the Virtual Console.

  10. Nintendo is my Blood

My goodness, Narutard’s grammar is atrocious.
I think it is trying to say:
“Don’t worry, I wouldn’t even bother to ever buy Nintendo games. So I don’t care.”

He needs to grow a fucking brain in that sexist, racist, bombshell of a head.

    1. Valve Admiral GLaDOS

And hit himself with “A Sacred Sasori Healing Uber Retardation Tool”
      In other words…

Nintendo should let them work on something new. Why not let them make a new Peach platformer game or a game where Waluigi, Birdo or Bowser is the main character?

Or maybe allow them to make a new character within the Mario universe to play as.

Right now, I can’t see them working on a Zelda game. We got Hyrule Warriors and Zelda Wii U coming out in the next year to two years.

  12. Luigi has ghost hunting as a hobby, a Mario only game with a different job skill would be a fresh approach.

Link is link, throwing him in another world where the Triforce can’t help him would be something…
