Nintendo of America has outlined how you can get your hands on a special demo code for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. This free demo lets you experience exclusive scenarios in the Hoenn region. You’ll encounter Pokémon that will Mega-Evolve for the first time—and you’ll even be able to bring a new Mega-Evolved Pokémon into the full version of Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. Items that you obtain while playing can also be transferred to the full versions once purchased.
How to get a demo code:
- Codes will be distributed at select cinema locations nationwide from Nov. 7–Nov. 13 (while supplies last).
- Check with your local retailer during the holidays to find out about special demo code giveaways (while supplies last).
- Get a code with your purchase of the new Pokémon Art Academy game (out Oct. 24) when you buy from Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo 3DS or 2DS system.
- You’ll also get a code with your purchase of one of two classic Pokémon games coming to the Virtual Console service on Nintendo eShop: the Pokémon Puzzle Challenge game (out Nov. 6) or the Pokémon Trading Card Game (out Nov. 13). You’ll find your free demo code on your eShop receipt (download codes available while supplies last).
- Codes will be emailed the week of Oct. 31 to select Nintendo customers with Nintendo Network IDs who have signed up to receive promotional emails from Nintendo.
- Codes will also be distributed during the holiday mall tour from Nov. 24‒Dec. 21 at 16 different locations throughout the nation. Talk to a staff member to try out Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire or any of the featured Nintendo 3DS games to receive two codes—one for you, and one for a friend (while supplies last). Check back soon for a list of tour locations.

Yes if you get it via email or somthing it doesn’t work cuzz its a USA code or somthing, so the only say to get it is via somthing else.

Almost every First-Party Nintendo game either never gets a demo period, or there has to be some complicated requirement that needs to be achieved in order to get it.
Can we please just have the demo up like an actual demo so that EVERYONE can experience this stuff?

It’s not even a new generation or a new region. Just a remake.
The game doesn’t even need a demo. It’s Pokemon. It’ll sell like hotcakes. Not getting it day one because of SSBU, but definitely picking it up maybe a week or so later.
Hopefully you can get Mega Glalie/ Steelix in the actual games other than just the demo. I would assume you didn’t bother with the demo.
And plus you know what you’re in for, for the most part.. especially since it’s a remake.

X and y was a welcome refresh to the boring formula of pokemon. There isn’t going to be much new anymore sadly so it’s back to not playing pokemon for another couple of years =)
Why would they make it difficult to play their demo? I call hazing.
My bet is on Nintendo knowing they can never handle digital launches, and to keep their servers from catching fire and crashing, they are making it a pain in the ass to get the demo codes.
I’d expect this kind of behavior from here on out as this is their best attempt to keep their tech from exploding.

No. Their servers crashed with Pokebank.
They crash on holidays.
They were overrun with mariokart.
Those are just off the top of my head….there are a few more.
It’s really not difficult to see the pattern. They simply can’t handle the load of their fan base hitting them around the same.
Aside from the 5th line, I honestly doubt anyone would be willing to waste their time fulfilling one of the above requirements JUST for a code.

*spoiler alert* I got my code and it worked, but im at work and i can´t get a long bathroom break or my boss will fire me haahahaha o well, i´ll have to wait home, only saw the intro, did one battle and then started exploring, i haven´t found any mega evolution poke or items that i would be able to transfer, unless is the poke i choose at the beginning if that the case i should have gotten another one becouse i already have one of this…..tried not to spoil anyting.
i have my theory why i got it early: 1. i was platinum last club nintendo year. 2. i´m almost platinum again. 3. i have pokemon games downloaded on my 3ds (pokemon radar and pokmn y, and pokemon bank). 3. I have pokemon trainer card on pokemon.com. 4. i used the global link on previus games. 5. i have activated the recive newsletter from them to my mail.
Well maybe thats why i got it early like the smash code i got it really earlly too. So that makes me a VIP user???
Also you should check your inbox on your trainer card after logging on pokemon.com, you have an inbox there were you get messeges from them.

I got the email with the code but the image element that has the code (and another with the code for the Shiny Gengar) just won’t load. I even tried loading it in a new tab and viewing the email in the browser. No luck. All I can do is wait and hope for the best.

I got the email at work, and the code was there, but I didn’t have my 3DS on me. I get home, I try to get the email but the image is broken >:( I should have taken a picture of it, I would have thought the code would have been embedded in the email and not an external reference, that is SOOOO dumb!

HOW TO FIND YOUR DEMO CODE. What i did was click on the link on the top right corner of the email (where the gengar is) it should say “Having trouble viewing this email? View this email online.” click the “online” it should bring you to a page with your demo code

Since your obviously signing up for the newsletter now, you obviously can’t get it.
