Crystal Red & Blue 2DS Models Will Launch November 21 In North America

2DS_red_blue_clearNintendo of America has revealed the transparent red and blue 2DS designs will launch alongside the latest Pokemon games come November 21. Previously only available to European consumers, collectors and children alike in North America will now be able to purchase either of the two consoles at a suggested retail price of $99.99 US dollars.

Unlike Europe, the transparent red and blue 2DS consoles – known more eloquently as Crystal Red and Crystal Blue in North America – will not be released as a bundle with Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, rather you’ll have to purchase the game separately. Both red and blue transparent 2DS models are currently available to purchase separately in Europe. For a closer look at the models, make sure to take a look at the gallery in our previous post, here.

“With a durable design and lower price point, Nintendo 2DS is a great first-time system for kids or anyone new to portable gaming. Its unique combination of video game fun and value will become even clearer on Nov. 21 when Nintendo launches new Crystal Red and Crystal Blue Nintendo 2DS systems at a suggested retail price of $99.99 each.”

  1. Why don’t they release the entire 3ds line as a “retro” viaty with see trough plastic like these? :P That would be some damn ugly yet stand out and want to have consoles. Xd Or a see trough Wii U with gamepad!

  2. And again,,, not in EU, just like the very variations of 3DS’s like the NES Version, Damn, Nintendo… we want those 3DS’s and 2DS’s too, you know?

  3. I’m SO confused when it comes to the 2DS. I want one for my collection, but I don’t know if I should get the turquoise, Rosalina colored 2DS, or one of these? Or just continue waiting in case a special edition 2DS comes out? Decisions, decisions…..
