You Can Now Pre-Purchase Super Smash Bros For Wii U On Nintendo eShop

Nintendo of America has confirmed via press release that you can now pre-purchase Super Smash Bros for Wii U. As a new way to satiate consumers and avoid the release day rush, fans will be able to pre-purchase and pre-load the upcoming brawler for Nintendo’s latest home console. Those with a Nintendo Network ID will be able to buy Super Smash Bros within the eShop and pre-load it to their console – as long as the Wii U system is in standby mode.

Avoiding the wrath of uneven downloading times, those who wish to purchase the game digitally can pre-load the game and, when it releases on November 21 in North America, or November 28 in Europe, the final data will be downloaded to the console. Smash fans can also purchase the digital version on Nintendo.com and within 72 hours of the game’s release date will receive a download redemption code via email. Those in Europe will also have the option to pre-purchase via the Nintendo eShop or via the Nintendo UK Online Store. Here’s the official word from Nintendo of America:

Starting now, Wii U owners can pre-purchase Super Smash Bros. for Wii U directly from the Nintendo eShop or by purchasing a download code for the game from participating retailers. At the time of pre-purchase, much of the game’s data will be pre-loaded to the purchaser’s Wii U system if it is in Standby mode. As soon as the game releases in the Nintendo eShop at midnight Eastern time on Nov. 21, the final data needed to unlock the full game will automatically download.

      1. You own a Wii U. Its essential that you buy an External drive so if you can get it for cheap on Black Friday then just get it.

There is something special about being able to have the game in hand with all of its amazing box-art. I digital download for my 3DS mostly out of convenience, but I prefer building up a collection of hard copies for my games.

  1. … or you can just buy it physically, not have to worry about the stress on the eShop, and not have to worry about making room on the Wii U’s memory/buying an external storage device. Just a thought. :p

  3. LMAO MisterBreada! However for your sake I’m not going to give you the codes. Simply for the fact that it would be a travesty to download this game. Buy the physical copy. This game will hold it’s trade in value for the next five years. Downloading this game would be a mistake.
