European fans of the Rune Factory series are bound to rejoice as a listing has been spotted for the long-awaited fourth installment on the 3DS eShop. Rune Factory 4 is due to release next Thursday, December 11, according to a tweeted image from a fan of the series. Though it’s not yet been officially confirmed by publisher XSEED or Marvelous US, the game’s listing can be found when using the search box in the European 3DS eShop.
Rune Factory 4 has had a troubled time in reaching European shores. It was originally cancelled by Marvelous AQL after technical difficulties cropped up, largely due to the folding of Neverland and the loss of the title’s main programmers. But earlier this year, XSEED and Marvelous US confirmed to fans that Rune Factory 4 would reach Europe as a digital-only title. Next week’s European download should no doubt confirm this release, but until then we’ll have to wait patiently.
