The other week brought great news as Duck Hunt will be arriving on the Wii U Virtual Console on Christmas Day. Blogger NintenDaan couldn’t wait that long and downloaded the Wii U Virtual Console release on the Japanese Wii U eShop. As you can see not a whole lot has changed but it’s still an iconic release.
Here’s A Look At The Virtual Console Version Of Duck Hunt

Can you still control that duck? that’s all that’s important
While the wiimote isn’t a light gun, it could mimic the behavior of a light gun simply by letting you aim at the center of the screen to calibrate it and then removing the reticle. I think the house of the dead game on wii did something like that. The reticle really ruins the virtual console version.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I won’t be buying unless you can turn the reticle off. That was part of the challenge of the original.

The fun of Duck Hunt was in aiming, right? This looks like you always see a reticle on the screen. That’s sort of a drag.
I feel like adding the thing to show where you’re pointed at is necessary, but it takes most of the difficulty out of the game. I’ve played the original Duck Hunt, and that was definitely the majority of it: you didn’t have something showing if you were exactly right or not, you just had to aim and hope.
This fps is better then cod bf halo and destiny
Wow this a stupid comment.
The wiimote is not a light gun its a tracking device.
Yeah, it does look they’ve made it pretty easy by adding the reticule. Not much they could do perhaps – the Wiimote simply isn’t a light gun.
There are plenty of games that use the wiimote to aim but don’t use a reticle. The reticle is just an added graphic. This comment doesn’t make sense.
