  • Nintendo 3DS: 17
  • Wii U: 2

  1. I think they have released tons of good games for the Wii U before the new year. :) They need to work on the other good games like the The Legend of Zelda one. I think they’re good for now.

      1. EA/Ubisoft: “We are proud partners and supporters of Nintendo and have many games to come for Wii U”

EA now: Wii U is crap (because Nintendo rejected Origin and same for Sony when they said their Origin business “isnt fair for consumers” and EA never went butthurt and call PS crap)

Ubisoft now: Cancelling ZombiU sequel, gimped/skipped many ports and lying for “support” because Wii U’s numbers are low IGNORING the fact that 3DS is doing far much better but made no games and Xbox One at the time had pathetic install base but still made games for them which nobody is buying much. But we dont care because guve us your fool’s money for out “cinematic 30FPS on PC/PS4/X1” excuse.

        Still remember that one too?

          1. Exactly. We are talking about Nintendo, not other companies. These idiots can stay topical. They can only try to dilute Nintendo’s guilt by pointing fingers at others.

        1. Yeah, it doesn’t have to do with the fact when UbiSoft and EA first released games on the WiiU (how many of you with the console bought ZombiU?) that they didn’t sell worth shit. Or that Nintendo made a console with yet another gimmicky bullshit controller that requires more time and money to make a game for it with features other than “it’s a MAP! Isn’t that cool?!”

Regardless of the business practices of those companies, in the end it comes down to Nintendo putting out yet another gimmick and not pushing for third party support because they’ve become so reliant on their first party games to carry them through the shitstorm.
          Fuck. That.

          1. And yet none complain when the same is done with PSVita or Smartglass acting as a second screen companion for some games and even the DS. Again, they’re all full of shit and only answer to fool’s money with false promises and hype. Don’t be an idiot and not see their ruse wide open. Why you think they stop supporting Nintendo all of a sudden?

Gamepad a gimmick? *Looks at Vita and Kinect* I’ve seen a hell of a lot worse that flopped harder than a belly diving moron at a public park pool.

      1. You know there are a ton of PS Vita games in Japan that never get localized to US? It’s why the ignorants say Vita has no games

            1. Yes, but Sony can help publish them, like say Minecraft to help its console instead of giving us ONLY indies with sprinkled heavy hitters. Yes, I am a salty PS vita owner.

      2. It’s all about the profit, why launch your game on a Nintendo console if their base is mostly Nintendo fans buying Nintendo games? Developers have been making more money on PS Vita and that reflects on the games being made for it

Resident Evil Revelations came out on 3DS, Resident Evil Revelations 2 is coming out on Vita. If you can’t see that there’s something behind this, you’re just blind

                1. Meh, most people don’t buy the vita due to lack of games, or rather lack of variety. I think the Wii U has a wider variety and a larger amount of games that are worthwhile. The only reason I think the Wii U isn’t selling is due to bad marketing, and lack of 3rd party support. And I can’t say for sure but I don’t think the vita has those problems. Long story short, It doesn’t sell well for a different reason than the vita.

              1. You definitely are a retard that has not the slightest idea about the japanese market.

and lol at “all Vita games are rehashed shooters”, how stupid are you?

                1. Wow. That is a dumbass comment. Japanese = shooters? lol I had to laugh at that. Japan is famous for RPGs, America is more of a “gun nut” fanbase which is where shooters do best even the shitty ones like COD: Ghosts. The real reason why Vita failed everywhere else outside of Japan is because of 4 reasons: 1. Vita has lacking number of exclusives and the only games I mostly see for Vita are also on PS3 so I ask myself “Why should I buy a Vita for the same watered ports from PS3 when I can just get the superior versions on PS3 instead” 2. Those overpriced Sony Vita memory cards likely scared some customers away and its a stupid ass move by Sony’s part for doing that instead of using the far cheaper SD cards and integrete some memory flash drive in the Vita. 3. Most of the better games are in Japan and 4. PlayStation Vita TV for $99 ultimately killed the purpose of even buying a Vita. So to the point: Sony killed it own mobile platform. IDK why other than sheer stupidity of their firm besides not updating their online security to prevent hacks from happening on PSN every fucking week since 2011. lol

                  1. well watchdogs wiiu in fact came out wiiu on nov18th same time as fry cry 4, must be why they didnt delay watchdogs for the wiiu… i would love to read what you can explain about that…. dont even start with ms and sony has bigger fanbase bs bc xbox one at that time didn’t… for ps3 and xbox 360 yes

                    1. Nintendo Elite Commander Quadraxis

                      You are joking right?…

The Wii U version was delayed for 9 months or so…

        1. No, most of the games coming out on the Vita are downloadable iphone games.

And I don’t know who made that list, but there are more than two games coming out for the Wii U before March.

And why count indie games on the Vita but not the Wii U? Something is fishy about this list. Seems fanboyish to me.

            1. Family Tennis SP.
              Citizens of Earth
              Chromophore: The Two Brothers
              Ultratron
              Unexplore
              Kirby and The Rainbow Curse
              Human Elemant
              Putty Squad
              Project Cars
              Yoshi’s Wooly World
              Splatoon
              Mario Maker
              Mario Party 10
              Razor Global Domination Pro Tour
              Devils Third
              Starwhal: Just the Tip
              Rive
              Adventures of Lolo

And there is actually more than this, I just got tired of looking.

I know there is no confirmed release dates for any of these games, but almost all of them have a Q1 release window. That would put them before March.

It’s almost like the guy that wrote this article did absolutely no research on the Nintendo games releasing, and focused on the other systems..

          1. You really need to do some reasearch before posting comments like that, because you seem to have no idea at all about the Vita’s library of games.

            1. Most of the Vita games are downloadable only, and many are also on the mobil app stores. There are some legitimate physical copy games coming out though.

And in the U.S. the Vita only has 7 confirmed games coming out before March…. 25 if you count Q1 release windows, which is fair becouse thats what I did with the Wii U..

I have nothing personal against the Vita at all. I own one, and love it.

But this article makes it sound like the Vita is all of a sudden getting a ton of support, when in reality it’s not. Out of all the 25 games coming out for the system I saw maybe one that interested me… I’m still pissed at Sony for dropping support of the system to be honest.. And it also makes it sound like there is no support for the Wii U, and that is also false.

        2. RE:R1 success was substantial and proof the fans don’t only buy Nintendo games. Only the most polished and well designed. What about RE4 when it was on GC and got ported over so many times? Nintendo fans don’t always and only buy games from Nintendo. When they see a good game that doesn’t scream “faulty cash ins” like Battlefield 4, then they’ll buy it and lets not forget, third parties rely on multiplatforms to make money so its not because on platform sucks. They can release it on Nintendo regardless if they wanted too but laziness or rushing also plays a big part of how games sell in certain demographics.

        3. you do know why people buy nintendo games right because most games on wiiu are nintendo duh…. why you’re trying to defend 3rd parties… explain why ubisoft keep delaying wiiu games …… like rayman legends, sony and ms fans wants the game then they waited to release wiiu ver along side the ps3 and xbox 360…. also explain why ubisoft wont delay watchdogs but delay the wiiu edition and should of had it released all at once… oh that’s right , you cant because they didnt want to because fry cry 4 releases almost the same time ast watchdogs for the wiiu… your statement sucks and fyi, rayman legends sold more on the wiiu.

      1. and thats the sad thing, that shows that MS is at least trying, wtf is Nintendo doing? instead of co-devloping, getting more developers, or even licensing out their IP’s more, they are just letting us out to dry with another game drought.

        1. Trying what? How to fuck up again like at the reveal and rvery Xbox console in ever generation console race ending up in 2nd place every time or not offering what Japan wants besides Americanized shooter bits?

  2. this year seems very lackluster for wii u games. BIG titles but with no release date, more so likely to be out during the end of the year ;/

    1. It’ll start picking up about halfway through the year, probably when splatoon releases followed by star fox, then zelda and some others

    2. Yeah, this is where 3rd party support would come in. To fill in the gaps between first party releases. Honestly I don’t care for most third party games, but I know many others would enjoy it. And It would really help sales

      1. Yes, one for February and one for March, Nintendo releases like one game per month from their team. This list isn’t saying what will come after March. Plus, we haven’t had the 1Q Nintendo Direct yet, and we don’t know what else Nintendo will announce for the first 4 months of the year.

    1. Quantity is important too. The average consumer isn’t going to be very happy spending $300+ on a video game system and only get one game of good quality on it.

Quality and quantity are both important. You don’t have to have a flood of games coming out but you should still have a good number for gamers to choose from.

  3. and alot of games releasing for other systems suck any ways or are to an aquired tast just cuz alot of games are releasing dont make them good not every1 is rich so i could care less im not gonna buy 22 games for any system in such a short time any ways so get over it.

    1. And chances are more than half of those games will likely suck. You can only think of a handful of games this year are gonna be good like Arkham Knight, Projects Cars and Zelda Wii U.

      1. Haha, I can’t wait to quote you now and when 8th gen finally hits its stride mock you for your ignorance on.

Bet you’re just gonna say the reviewers are biased and that the games are all boring rehashes when they get good scores. LOL.

  4. The games coming out may not be the most, but I can guarantee they will be the best quality. Fanboys need to get off this site if it has nothing to do with them, which it doesn’t. This is a Nintendo site, don’t like it? Then go and bitch and moan on another site about the supposed lack of games.

  5. Why would this surprise anyone? The system with the most games just means it has more garbage, rushed games with no quality.

          1. I wasn’t even done and Wii U does have more than 2. They’re only counting the games that matter or noticable like Kirby. Everything else are bound to be shovelware from other higher game counts and tell me, are you gonna buy most of what those games are or only a couple of them? We both know the actual reality in this: You won’t care for that number after seeing what those games or trash are and have enough cash to buy at least 1 or 2 for the moment.

            1. Shuhei Yoshida not logged in because I'm using the FaceBook app

So what happens if those 2 Wii U games don’t get Metacritics of 90 and higher? What’s your “quality” excuse then?

  6. Well Nintendo did say they prefer quality over quantity. But still 2 games is still really small and even worse part is that most people are only going to buy Kirby and not that Lego game…

  7. so… add pc to that list and no console or handheld can “win”
and also what does it matter I have enough work to do I can’t play 22 different games. And theres this thing called outside wich is a nice place too

    1. 22 games are CHOICES

CHOICES for consumers with different tastes

And a long term solution when there are droughts dumbass

  8. I believe Nintendo has more than two games coming out. Nintendo only has two games that have been confirmed, but more will be announced before then. No way in hell will Nintendo repeat the same mistake again…

  9. I could use a break from buying games. All of the amiibo are costing me a fortune. Preorders for Majora’s Mask and Monster Hunter 4. Also, more than enough coming on WiiU to keep me happy this year:
    Yoshi
    Kirby
    Starfox
    Splatoon
    Xenoblade Chronicles X
    Mariomaker
    Project Cars
    Devils 3rd
    ZELDA U

        1. Those are the only major games being released. He just named ever major announced game, there is nothing else. So yes, those are the only games lol

          1. Those are the only games announced by Nintendo. There will be more announcements at E3 and in future Nintendo Directs. For example we didn’t know about Captain Toad Treasure Tracker until E3 last year..

      1. They could announce more at E3 but they might come out next year. I’m hoping for Sunshine HD and if it is announced hopefully this year and plus Retro might be working on Metroid but then again it’s probably for next year too. Opps almost forgot about Animal Crossing which might come this year too. Who knows?

      2. How much time do you typically spend on a game? I know MarioMaker is going to keep me happy all year round. These games should be enough to cover 12 months of time but if not there are lots more games coming I didn’t list. Plus all the games for my 3DS plus gonna have to buy new 3DS at launch this year. Nintendo has a firm grip on my bank account. And that is why I have a job and no time to play more than 9 WiiU games concurrent with several 3DS titles.

        1. I second that motion! Let’s do some quick math..

          Xenoblade Chronicles: 100+ hours
          Zelda U : 60-100 hours
          Majoras Mask: 30-40 hours
Monster Hunter 4U: 300-500+ hours (not joking)

Thats potentially 700+ hours of gameplay. And honestly I could possibly put 700 hours on MH4 alone…

So yea, I don’t think I will have much time for any other games this year… I will try to squeeze in Arkham Knight and The Witcher 3.

          1. One game a month can tide me over until the next month but some games can easily be completed in a couple of weeks, some even a week. Yoshi, Kirby, and other little platformers like that only last so long for most. Starfox and Pokemon (unless you play online) can also easily be completed in about 2 weeks or less. This may only apply to those who are more dedicated gamers or play everyday, but its still something to observe. I only have enough for about one game enough so its sort of a moot point for me. You also have to observe that not everyone likes the same games so while Monster Hinter and Xenoblade may give you 200+ hours that doesn’t apply to everyone else. Of course Nintendo has plenty of titles coming out to appeal to everyone as well as 3DS games but there’s nothing wrong with more variety on their consoles; even if its shovelware, ports, shooters, or milked games. Although I admit too much of those types of games will just give the Wii U n even worse perception, but its still something.

      3. And many more aren’t announced yet and being currently worked on until E3 conference so don’t be an idiot and ditch a platform because it doesnt have a buttload number of potential garbage than few to several quality-guaranteed games.

    1. Minus Project Car and Devil’s 3rd and you have my list for this year. And hell thank you for only 7 games!!! My wallet is still suffering from last year.

  10. So? Nintendo says it takes time to release quality titles something other developers need to learn. Why present this anyway? Nintendo has many great titles releasing this year just like last year. Why is Lego Marvel there, is it a region thing?

      1. I find those statements stupid. Why not, like Yoshida said, gameplay and graphics? Quality and quantity? I just don’t see why people refuse to accept Nintendo’s flaws

        1. Nintendo Elite Commander Quadraxis

What the imbeciles considers great graphics is only the realistic style, any other style is not good for them regardless of how great it is…

These graphic lovers only care about having games that looks and feels as real life…

And nobody is denying Nintendo’s flaws, still does not have anything that facts and logic wise, gameplay and quality will always be priority number one instead of graphics and realism…

And personally, I don’t car eabout any of the two Wii U games they have listed there either so I’m not making any excuses, I’m not the N-Dub Nation that everyone of them owns Xboxes and still bash it…

Hypocrites and their time is over…

    1. I’m tired of people saying graphics are more important than gameplay, Nintendo games in 2014 have been more highly reviewed than even the most overhyped titles from 3rd parties just because they look “great” to people. That shows with 3rd parties with them clearly focusing more on the 8th gen versions than 7th gen versions. Dragon Age Inquisition doesn’t look too good and Shadow of Morder i heard was a bad port. If people care about how a game plays than Wii U would be saying A LOT

  11. I would be fine with just 2 games as long as they were multiplayer and/or had tons of replay value. Like the poster above said, “Finally good news for my wallet.” Couldn’t agree more. I already have plenty of games to keep me occupied(heck probably for 3 years). I just wish it was splatoon as i’m eagerly awaiting nintendo’s reintroduction to the shooter market. Where’s a competitive Starfox? Or a competitive Metroid? Or just another competitive shooter or strategy game. I was hoping pikmin would’ve been nintendo’s rts. There’s also battalion wars. Nintendo has so many IPs that they could easily give us quantity, yet here we are again, begging Nintendo for more. Like I said 2 games would be fine, just not platformers. I’m beyond over them. Like since yoshi island for the snes over them. Come on Nintendo what’s Retro doing? Where’s custom robo? F-zero? You better be making those for the virtual boy. I guess I’ll just get ready for the new 3ds, splatoon, Xenoblade, Starfox, majora’s mask, and Zelda U. Good thing monster hunter is on its way. And let’s hope devil’s third turns out great. We’ll need them to be.

  12. I bet everybody here is gonna be bashing Wii U for having the least amount of games..again but failed to realize this painful reality: Chances are that more games will likely suck and only a couple mught be decent until the AAA heavy hitters arrive and the fact that you won’t be buying most of what the Q1 offers which isn’t the strongest timeline for gaming. Around Spring/Summer/Fall is where the better games arrive. Winter stars off usually slow and dull.

    1. Thing about Nintendo is that thier games quality, replaybity and gameplay are second to none. Their games stay bieng played and enjoyed for years. Look at the facts in 2014 they had a fighter(ssb4) action (Bayonetta) strategy (pikmin)sport\racer(Mk8) hack and slasher(HW)platformer(3 atleast)open world action adventure(WW) and party (Ninty land)not even counting 3ds ladies and gents or next year. Now for next year on wii u alone they have a action openwolrd (Zelda) a jrpg (Xenoblade) level editor(MM)platformer\shooter and party that and im sure more unanouce games are coming. Dat quality variety doh:)

    2. You’re equivalent to this sasori guy, only from a dofferent perspective. Nothing is really different except that you might be even more agressive in fanboyism

  13. Holy cactus, you people need to chill the fokk out and smoke some ganja. Whole lotta uber rude boy-ness going on in here.

  14. Also I have a ps4 and I am looking forward into 3 games all 3rd party. Those games are Batman,Witcher and MGS. I may get Uncharted because it is something I could like its just the games are too short making it lack in replaybility. I may also get Division if Ubisoft can actually deliver. Dat track record doh:(

  15. It’s because the games on other consoles are mostly multiplats that don’t feel like developing for the Wii U since they believe it isn’t doing well. But it isn’t doing well because they don’t develop games for it.

      1. Ridley, the Angel of Death

Ignoring the fact ZombiU did very well for the install base at the time of release. Not Nintendo’s fault Ubishit wanted more.

  16. Why do people care only 2 games are gonna be released these 2 months? You are not gonna buy them and if 36 game were going to be released like in the Vita, you are not gonna buy them, I don’t know what kind of fucking loser has the time to buy and play 36 games in 2 months. So, you making fun of the Wii U because it has only 2 games these first months of the year, only means you are a fanboy making fun about quantity of games, no that you are hating it because you want to buy an play 36 games or you’ll be bored. If you want games for Wii U wait until June when the good stuff starts coming out, or go back and buy awesome games that people aren’t buying that deserve sells like Bayonetta 2, funny how people complain about no games, yet they don’t buy what’s already out and when something comes out they don’t buy it, they are just here to troll and complain and show how much of a fanboy they are. I don’t think I’m buying Kirby and I don’t care it’s only 2 games, I haven’t finished Bayonetta 2 and Pokemon ORAS, hell, I even have to finish so many games on my Wii and haven’t finished Pikmin 3 and some others on my Wii U, why go buy more games when I haven’t finished those I have? People just use numbers as troll bait. Plus, wait for the Nintendo Direct on February or the end of the month to give us more info, release dates, and games. I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHEN THAT KIRBY GAME IS COMING OUT!

    1. So what about those people who don’t like Lego games? And Kirby games? What stuff do they have to play then? Your logic is pretty stupid

      1. Ridley, the Angel of Death

Maybe they should get the hell out of their comfort zone & try out a new genre. Who knows; maybe they might even actually enjoy Kirby or the Lego game? Not to mention the backlog of games new Wii U owners could try out.

  17. Ohhhhhh NOOOOOOO. 2 months you say? 2 WHOLE MONTHS? HOW WILL I EVER SURVIVE!!!!!!!!!! Only Kirby in the first 2 months of the year, that’s not a bad thing. Are we forgetting PS4/Xbox One games were delayed till this year, and it doesn’t even matter not a single game of those on PS4 or Xbox One are anything special. The question is, will they even work at launch? I have my doubts. Smash Bros was a bigger release and will have a longer lasting effect anyway.

    1. Haha, longer lasting effect. Already in the bottom of UK and US charts after a few weeks lol!

” not a single game of those on PS4 or Xbox One are anything special.”
      Dat subjectivity though

    2. SOME were delayed. Your point? Isn’t the Miyamoto saying that a delayed game is better than a rushed one? 2 games is just sad, even as a Wii U owner I’m gonna be playing my PS4 for the majority of the first three months

  18. everyone needs to calm down release dates get moved forward and back all the time. I hold nintendo to their word as should you all but remember we got 2 AAA games in december with smash bros and toad TT. originally captain toad was looking like a christmas or early january release. but the dates got moved forward leaving january without one. I’m not going to get mad at them for moving up toads release date and leaving january dry. so far everything is on schedule. we have kirby in february, and then we’ve got another one in march IDK what it is I’ll have to check but things are looking good. I can’t speak for others but I don’t mind not having a big list of upcoming games so long as the quality of the titles we get are high.

        1. That begs the question then, what qualifies it to be “AAA”? Usually “AAA” games by industry standards are ones that large budgets and many years are spent on.

It was even released at retail at a lower price than say SSB, Bayonetta, and Mario Kart which were AAA for sure.

AAA doesn’t necessarily mean it is a good quality game. Captain Toad is great quality no doubt but that doesn’t necessarily make it AAA.

I guess there’s that debate on what makes a AAA game anyway. There doesn’t seem to be a clear definition for AAA anymore.

          1. I agree the AAA lines are clearly blurred. but nintendo claims it’s a AAA and since it was made in house who am I to argue with that. It certainly isn’t a big sized game as many have come to expect from most AAA titles but this was a heavily worked on project for them it just didn’t take as long to make as mariokart 8 because they were able to use the same existing engine from 3dworld. but I see your point

  19. Pingback: Wii U tem menos jogos fora de todos os consoles Releasing Através Até março no Japão | Games Bros – O melhor dos Games e Consoles, notícias, vídeos, reviews e muito mais!

  20. Let’s establish a few things here… Kirby, Lego, Yoshi, Devil’s Third, and Mario Maker are all announced for Quarter 1 (January-March). Exact release dates haven’t been given yet, exempting Kirby and Lego. Those are, by no means, the only games being released. Outside of that, there are dozens of downloadable games scheduled for that same period that cater to various tastes.

Myself, I’ll be getting “Kirby” for Wii U and “Bloodborne” for my PS4. Everything else will have to wait a month or two before it gets any consideration. I love playing games, not just looking at them and then moving on to the next one. That’s why I really only buy about one game a month, usually bouncing back and forth between platforms. Quality releases on the PS4 are just as rare, often rarer, than those found on the Wii U – and yet the two systems are complimentary.

Before anyone starts on with the “I can’t afford two systems” routine, let’s assume that a “game drought” doesn’t affect you anyway. After all, if you’re buying 2 or more games a month, meaning only one major release a month would be unacceptable, you’re already spending over $1400 a year on video games (the cost of an additional system would be inconsequential). For the rest of us, isn’t it better to play 8-10 truly excellent titles every year, rather than playing two dozen lazy half-efforts? Just my philosophy.
