Zelda Majora’s Mask 3D Features A Revamped Bomber’s Notebook

The latest edition of UK publication Games Master has revealed that the long-awaited Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D for the Nintendo 3DS will feature a revamped Bomber’s Notebook. If you haven’t played the original then you’ll be interested to know that the Bomber’s Notebook can be used to keep track of different quests. The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma says that it’s now meant “to act more like an electronic notebook that leads players to these hidden events.”

We were told by Mr. Miyamoto that he felt there were a lot of users who finished the original without even noticing all the hidden events scattered around the town. He said that he wanted us to make sure users were more aware of them this time around.

    1. I’m sure there will be obvious indicators leading to these quests but those will help the new people. So long as these things don’t help them all the way. After all Zelda should have puzzle solving. Hugs.

    2. Nintendo has no faith in thier fans at all. I beat Majoras Mask 100%. Why does Miyamoto believe players “missed quests” ? I didn’t miss anything. And there are guides galore to purchase or look up on the internet for free. Come on Miyamoto.

Nintendo has to get out of this hand holding phase thier in. They don’t put enough trust in the player and they over explain thier game. Mario Luigi Dream Team was practically one giant tutorial, and I could name a hundred other games similar.

I swear, if they over simplify Majoras Mask…..

      1. The bombers note book was made to keep track of quest that added, and it really didn’t do much after that. You had to look for people for quest at times and some people are only around during some points of the day, so it might help with that issue. It might add notes that you can write, who knows. Just because you finished it 100% doesn’t mean everyone else did. I’ve even talked to people who didn’t know about the scarecrow song, or other forms of the songs of time

        1. I would be fine, if say, they made it easier to find out about the side quests (such as that one mask which lets you do the dancing thing, can’t remember its name!), to where you know that there is at least something going on at 1 AM in Termina Field or whatever time it was…

      2. Same. I completed Majora’s Mask 100% the first time playing it. And again when playing it with my niece a few months ago.

  1. I loved the Bomber’s Notebook! I felt so organized once I completed it. I hope they don’t change the quests. Hugs!

  2. Well, if they even did something small like starting off with just the pictures of everyone who needs some help filled in already. lt would help people who don’t want to use a walkthrough immensely.

Nintendo doesn’t even have to have their schedule laid out from the get-go, but just being able to see which people actually have events related to them may be a huge help for people who don’t know the game 100% like some people do.

That’s what I imagine by ‘leading players to hidden events’ anyway

    1. Your too late. I already complained. But seriously, why make a game easier, when the game is not that hard to begin with. I hated how they remade Mario 64 on the DS and pointed out every star on the bottom screen. That drove me crazy. I just hope they don’t do anything to that extent..

      1. Dang, you beat me to it by 3 minutes. :p
Either way, I see where you’re coming from, but you have to accept that times change, and video games aren’t exactly what they used to be when we were younger. Developers want to appeal to the newer generations, and in order to do so, they have to lower the difficulty, seeing how today’s youth doesn’t seem to be as dedicated to single player games as earlier generations were. Ideally, the developers will offer us different difficulty levels to choose from, but unfortunately, that isn’t always the case, especially with Mario games.

        1. Ridley, the Angel of Death

What’s the point in a puzzle if it becomes too easy that even an idiot can figure it out? You risk the chance of dumbing down the rest of society because of that one moron.

    2. They should make a Master Quest mode to make up for the small easiness they added… So those of us who beat the game without much trouble can try again with tougher dungeons and quests…

        1. Sure, but an Easy or Hard setting would probably lnly change things like damage taken and stuff like that… I want legitimately harder puzzles and stuff like OOT’s Master Quest. (It was quite fun, albeit weird sometimes…)

      1. They definitely should, and considering they added a Masterquest mode in OoT 3D, I think chances shouldn’t be too low for getting it in MM as well.
I’d like it better if they offered different difficulty levels from the very beginning, as it would be the fairest option, but I guess unlocking a MQ mode is still better than nothing at all.

  3. Eh, if I didn’t know by heart where everything in Majora’s Mask is already, I’d give a crap. But seeing as how I do…

  4. Ah the people that desperately demand a remake and than start to trip over everything that gets change. Knowing full well they gonna buy and love it any how:)
