New Pokken Tournament Screenshots Give Us A Closer Look At Suicune, Gardevoir & Pikachu

Bandai Namco has unleashed a bunch of new screenshots showcasing the arcade fighter Pokken Tournament. After last week’s livestream, which managed to give us a better look at the gameplay through a trailer, the publisher has whipped up a number of gorgeous shots of newly confirmed Pokemon such as Suicune, Gardevoir, and Pikachu, fighting against the likes of Machamp and Lucario. Make sure you take a look at them in the gallery below.

Pokken Tournament is currently in development for Japanese arcades. It’s not yet known whether the game will come to the west, or if it will land on the Wii U, though both are still a possibility.

        1. i know i would… if nintendo tells gamefreak to make it work with amiibo, they will make alot of money from it since there’s a lot of pokemon

          1. All Pokemon aren’t going to be in this game though. And I really doubt they can make it work with amiibo since it’s a fighting game. The most I can see them doing is costumes from amiibo. (Like for example a Mario costume for your fighter)

  1. Yeah this need console release and from the looks of it. It looks as if you can create your own trainer. Fucking awesome

      1. Wait are you talking about the ds Pokemon battle mechanic where you press a button and the Pokemon does all the work?Or just the water weak against grass type mechanic?

              1. No. That’s not what I said. The Ds Pokemon battle system is boring. The pokken battle system is awesome

                  1. OK now your fucking confusing me. Pokken will have a battle system like traditional fighting games right

      1. In due time, something like that has to be perfected. You fuck something that big up and it could tarnish the Pokemon name for a long time.

Honestly though, to be blunt. I don’t think Game Freak could even handle this right now. They can’t even get Pokemon games to run well on the 3DS… Don’t get me wrong I love em, but they’ve always been terrible with coding they’re bigger games. Even the New 3DS doesn’t fix any of the frame rate issues X/Y and Ruby/Sapphire have. Pokemon isn’t the best looking 3DS game either, so I’ve always been baffled at to why it runs so poorly.

      2. Hopefully sometime this year we hear about a Wii U version incoming. It would be a nice surprise if it actually came to the Wii U this year. Although I’m not getting my hopes up, I’m guessing next year.

      3. Ridley, the Angel of Death

We’re in for a very, very long wait since GameFreak has shown absolutely no interest in making a Pokemon game like the handheld versions for consoles.

    1. Nintendo Elite Commander Quadraxis

The only thing High Command needs to do now is confirm it for the Wii U and then make a 3DS/Wii U connectivity to battle with your Pokemon in Pokken Fighters…

    2. Okay, so am I the only one curious about those images near the health bars? It showed four different Pokemon (Fennekin, Emolga, Lapras, Snivy) with some sort of function. Tekken does have tag battle features, is it possible these characters were accidentally leaked as part of footage?

    3. They need to add color to it and not go realistic so it will fit the Pokemon look am not buying if it don’t use the colors right I don’t want a fucking realistic look Pokemon game that’s lame and ugly the way it looks is ugly.

    4. I’ll buy the game just to battle as Gardevoir and I suppose any other cute pokemon. Now if only it’ll come to the Wii U pretty soon.

        1. Some others too but she’ll be my main or at least favorite pokemon. It’s just like how people buy smash because it has their favorite character, even if they don’t main them. I for one was sold on SSB4 from Lucina, Kid Icarus from Pit in SSB:B, and became interested in Star Fox from SSB:B as well. It’s all about marketing, put a character with a huge fan base in a game and it’ll sell well. That’s what they’re trying to do with Rosalina in MP10. :P
