Pokemon Shuffle Now Available To Download In European 3DS eShop

Pokemon Shuffle is now available to download for free in the Nintendo 3DS eShop for Europe and Australia. At just 686 blocks to download, Pokemon Shuffle won’t put a strain on your SD card’s memory. Featuring a number of fan-favourite Pokemon, the puzzle game will put players’ skills to the test as they battle wild Pokemon across a number of stages. You’ll have to match three or more Pokemon on puzzle boards to deal damage, but – with a limited number of moves – going for combos is the key. Once a Pokemon is defeated you’ll get the chance to catch a Pokemon and add it to your team.

Though the game is free to download, it will support optional in-app purchases. Each battle you encounter will take one of your five hearts available, they’ll regenerate after 30 minutes has passed but if you want to continue playing you’ll need to purchase additional hearts with in-game jewels. Pokemon Shuffle should be available in the North American 3DS eShop later today, too. European, UK and US dollar prices for purchasing jewels are as follows:

  • 1 Jewel –  €0.99 / £0.89 /  $0.99
  • 6 Jewels – €4.99 / £4.49 / $4.99
  • 12 Jewels – €8.99 / £8.09 / $8.99
  • 35 Jewels – €24.99 / £22.49 / $24.99
  • 75 Jewels – €47.99 / £42.99 / $47.99

  1. This game seems kind of pointless imo. I never really cared for puzzle games. If you can at least catch actual Pokemon in this game then it might be useful. But I’m pretty sure you can’t anyways…

    1. I just tried it out not that long ago. Can’t say I’m personally a fan but it does allow you to catch Pokemon after each battle, which can then be used to fight other Pokemon in battles next time. They also level up as you continue in more matches. The only thing is it has a “catch rate” which can then be heightened by the amount of moves you have left over, so it’s your basic RNG roll to whether you’ll catch the Pokemon. Anyway, just my two cents. :)

      1. Would you say it’s Candy Crush/Bejeweled with an interesting spin? How annoying or not is the pay system? I’m just curious if the game allows to be played without paying or if this 30 min timer really gets in the way.

        1. It looks more like a Puzzle and Dragons spin off where you move one tile around to make as many combos as possible. Puzzle and Dragons is EXTEEMELY popular in Japan and is becoming very popular here as well, so I’m sure Nintendo is just trying to grab smartphone casual gamers.

  2. You lose a heart whether you beat a level or not and that’s extremely annoying because you should get that heart that you used to get into the level, back after beating the level, to give that sense of reward. It’s not rewarding, knowing that it’s pointless beating a level, because then after 5 levels, you have to wait for you lives to regenerate. It’s only good for those that tend to spend too much time playing games, but other than that, the feature is pointless and needs to be fixed. However, from now on, this is going to be a game that I only play for a few minutes while on toilet and Smash Bros for 3DS and Animal Crossing New Leaf will be my main games that I play throughout the day as normal…
