Atlus has announced Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight will be arriving for North America this summer. The upcoming dungeon-crawler for the Nintendo 3DS will launch in the region as both a physical and digital eShop release, priced at $49.99. The game will feature two stories in one, the first as an update to Etrian Odyssey 2: Heroes of Lagaard with a number of new dungeon layouts and system improvements, along with a brand new “Untold” storyline which follows the glorious tale of five adventurers, including the Fafnir Knight.
Make sure to visit the official site for Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight, where you can place a pre-order for the game. An announcement trailer can be viewed above for the dungeon-crawler, as well as some additional information on the game’s storyline and modes below.
Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold has two ways to play the game, continuing the tradition of the Untold franchise. Classic mode revisits the original Etrian Odyssey 2 with updated graphics, player conveniences, and a full roster of classes. Story mode features a fixed party, but includes voiced dialogue, animated cutscenes and a bittersweet arc that explores the relationship between Arianna and the Fafnir Knight.
Just as in Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl and Persona Q, in addition to normal difficulty, players can choose Picnic mode for a low-difficulty experience, or the veterans amongst them can choose Expert mode for a punishing play-through.
