Nintendo Demonstrates amiibo Tap: Nintendo’s Greatest Bits In New Trailer

Nintendo has demonstrated amiibo tap: Nintendo’s Greatest Bits in a brand-new Japanese trailer. The application will be downloadable for free from the Nintendo eShop. It allows users to tap any amiibo to the Wii U GamePad to unlock gameplay highlights from select NES and Super NES games, including Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Kart, Super Metroid and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

  1. I think amiibo tap is an okay idea. I mean demos are cool and all, but what if u actually got the full game? Now that’s worth a download

    1. That would be awesome, but I guess they’d have to lock it behind the amiibo to be tapped every time you play.

  2. I really hate how nintendo are using these amiibo. So far almost everything they are used for is uninteresting. This amiibo tap is just unlocking demos of 20 year old games. This isn’t a cool feature, this is just using a product we bought to literally advertise other products on the virtual console.

    1. Couldn’t agree more. I’m not sure why I should be excited about this. Mind you, I guess it’s better than nothing…
