We all know just how popular the Villager amiibo has been from the Animal Crossing franchise. It has proven so popular in Japan that Nintendo has decided to do a reprint and as you can see there’s some minor changes between the original Villager (left) and the reprinted one (right). Reddit user LegendAssassin has given us a look at both versions and there is clearly a slight difference.
Eyes should not be below the ears on this amiibo.
Unmm the new one actually looks more correct based on how Villagers look in Animal Crossing.
The one with the eyes up too high is incorrect.

Do you see the smash 4 art of villager? The angle is head on. You see the figure? The picture angle is taken form above the figure, easy seen by looking at the base of the figure. I’m sure it’s great if you look at him head on.
Actually they didn’t adjust the hair down a little bit so the forehead is big now…
Put your finger over the forehead, it looks soooo much better.
It would be fun to switch someone’s amiibo for this one and tell them his eyes have moved

They’re only doing the changes in Japan
So if a US or UK citizens snags one from Japan, maybe on ebay, it will be a special exclusive collector’s item.
The eye changes make it look like he has a bigger forehead. Also idk if it’s the lighting but is that black hair on him?

Yes but the original artwork is a photo image without depth so it doesn’t look wierd on the artwork. On the amiibo they simply kept everything else (relatively) the same except change the face position which makes it look completely off + the angle the person took the photo at is different.
Mostrara likely changes introduced by different illumination.
They made it look weirder than it already was.
I like the face better but the forehead is definitely off.

The new one, while the materials used to make it are of lesser quality, the design is more accurate.
This is going to make the original release of the Villager even MORE valuable. So glad I got one.

I like the change in eye size, but I think that the entire face should be scaled up a bit to get the correct animal crossing feel.
