  1. What’s the point in developing a game for a home console that uses the small gamepad screen to be played intead of the TV screen? This game should have been released for the 3DS.

    This is Nintendo sabotaging itself.

    1. Kirby Canvas Curse was a DS game.So putting the sequel on the 3DS does make sense. That being said, Nintendo probably put it on Wii U, to show that the Gamepad isn’t just there for show and the there are games that utilize the Gamepad properly. However, in my opinion, Mario Maker does a better job of showing that the Gamepad enhances the experience, by showing that making levels using the Touch Screen is both faster and more fun than using a normal controller and placing things using an analog stick or a D Pad. I also think that they should have left the Clay style to an actual 2D Sidescrolling Kirby Platformer, rather than on this. Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush/Curse would have done alright even without the Clay Style.

      1. I totally agree that Nintendo is eager to find ways to properly utilize the gamepad and this game was a trial to achieve that. But playing Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is somewhat awkward… A home console experience lies in the use of your TV to play the games. What’s the point in turning your TV on and mainly use the gamepad to play it? This makes me think that the gamepad should have been only used for maps, inventorys and HUDs.

    2. On the console it could have 10 times better graphics, and you could have three other people playing with you on the TV. Plus bigger touch screen makes it easier to make the lines accurately.Pretty obvious reasons.

      1. The 3DS is able to put out nice graphics due to its small screens. So, sorry, you don’t have a point in this.

Bigger touch screens = more accurate lines. Makes some sense, indeed. But the 3DS bottom screen still has enough precision. Even the DS resistive touchscreen was pretty good back in the day.

        1. That’s not true, the 3ds couldn’t even handle the Wii textures much less the Wii U textures, so yes I do have a point.

          1. Graphics doesn’t even have anything to do with this. Graphics have nothing to do with the gameplay

            1. Still it’s easier to play with four people if you use the console, so you don’t have to have 4 3DS’s, so that’s still an excellent gameplay reason.

But the WHOLE point of the clay effects is to have a pretty looking game with nice graphics.

If they put it on the 3DS, might as well ditch the claymation look as well.

              1. Never heard anyone from Nintendo claiming that Kirby was first intended to have fancy graphics.

Any game can appear on a home console. There is no such thing as “handheld games” and “console games.”

The only reason why people keep saying this is because they either a) don’t want to pay $60 for the game instead of $40 for a 3DS game or b) Only own a Wii U and feel they are missing out on the game which they could have played if it came to the 3DS.

All that really can be said is, too bad so sad. It came out for the Wii U, because it is a VIDEO GAME on a VIDEO GAME CONSOLE. Plain and simple.

  2. Is there a typo in “as you may have noticed it is under a slightly different game”. Shouldn’t it be ‘name’ in the end? Or does the game has different content over there?

    1. Yeah I was confused by that too. I think name sounds right but if the game was different I feel like they would’ve elaborated

  3. Fairly sure theres a typo in there that makes it seem like a different game.

And, im pretty sure we got all this already.

    Play Continuum.

  4. I'm a Boss Ass Bitch

I think these Kirby game are fucking garbage. A 3d Kirby game needs to be fucking made.

      1. I'm a Boss Ass Bitch

When the gameplay or the original concept of Kirby is changed to this bullshit than yeah it is garbage. I didn’t mean all kirby games but Kirby games the makes no fucking sense at all. Why make garbage like this when you can make a full fledged 3d Kirby game which has never been done before.

  5. I don’t think I’ll be picking this one up.
Not a huge fan of gimmicky-styled games.
Although, I did particularly enjoy DK: Jungle Climber and Yoshi: Touch and Go for the DS.

      1. Indeed, lol.
I tried Canvas Curse back then, but I just could never get attached to it. >.<

  6. Today I quit gaming “The active game acquisition part of it “.
I realized that if I don’t do it now I will never have a meaningful life.

Mind that this is only about.me as I am trully addicted to videogames and can spend all my money on it without thinking.about consequences.

It will be painful. I hope I can succeed.
