Metroid fans may be aware of a game called Axiom Verge, a title that shares many characteristics with the Samus Aran-driven series. And if you’ve ever played a Metroid game before, you know that can only mean good things.
So, it’s been a bit of a head-scratcher why Axiom Verge has not appeared in any form on a Nintendo platform. However, during an interview with video game publication Game Informer, former Nintendo of America employee and PR lead for Axiom Verge Dan Adelman believes it’s only a matter of time before the game makes its long-awaited debut on a Nintendo system, saying,
“They’ve been nothing but great. They’ve been congratulatory. I’m going to go out to lunch with a couple of my old coworkers sometime next week. They’d like to have it on a platform, so that’s something we want to work towards.”
Tom Happ, the sole developer of Axiom Verge is certainly interested in bringing the game to Nintendo systems… but there’s a one little big problem — Axiom Verge was built using MonoGame, an engine that neither the Wii U or 3DS play nicely with.
Still, the right people have been in talks with each other, so it’s only a matter of time before our payers are answered and we get Axiom Verge on Nintendo’s eShops!

Since Axiom Verge is an indie game, your complaints about lack of quality 3rd party support don’t have anything to do with this particular piece of news (and before you say indie games are third party support: you were clearly refering to AAA titles). Your bitching is completely unjustified.
News flash: Metroid is not the only Metroidvania (or exploratory action, or whatever you call the genre) game out there. Axiom Verge existing doesn’t diminish the possibilities of a new Metroid game being created. If anything, it shows that there’s a place in the market for this kind of games. The fans are starving for them, let them have them.
There’s no need for you to get mad over Nintendo’s poor performance. Nintendo doesn’t need your support to rise from their decline. If you don’t like Nintendo, shut the fuck up and don’t buy Nintendo products.

Exactly, why do they care about other studios’ Metroid-like games when can make a far better game. Last year Reggie saw this game and said “That looks like Metroid” after hearing this I said yeah Reggie like the game you guys never make.

Hey Nintendo I have been waiting for a 2D Metroid since 2005, if Metroid 5 is not announced at E3 I’m done I can’t take it anymore. It’s been an even longer wait for us Star Fox fans. The last console SF was GameCube. I want Metroid too, though. But, I’m thankful we’re finally getting Star Fox. I want FZero so badly as well…
