Activision Confirms No Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 For Wii U

Activision has announced that they’re bringing Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but there’s no Wii U version on the cards. The news was announced today in a blog post posted by the company which explicitly states that there will be no version of the popular series for Nintendo’s latest home console. It’s interesting that they’re bringing it to last generation systems now.

Also, it should be noted that there’s no version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for Nintendo Wii U planned.

Thanks, MasterPikachu6

      1. But I don’t like having sexual intercourse with electronic goods…. you really need help if your doing that to your PS4

          1. But you said you wanted to “fuck” a Wii U in your comment.

I’m pretty sure you’re the one who needs their head examined

            1. Lol was I the one thinking about doing sexual acts with an inanimate object? You pigeons are so deluded lmfaooooooooo!

            2. Shit with the way you troll I’m starting to question yours. My 9 year old daughter do a better job than your pathetic ass

              1. Question me all you want, I’ll just keep laughing. And as for your nine year old daughter… Good for her?

          1. It’s not funny to make fun of the mentally challenged. Calling it the “retard bus” just shows how immature you are; I applaud you sir, really.

        1. Chill man, no real Nintendo fan cares about COD anyway. We’ve gone forever without one, and can live w/o one. Besides, half the players on COD are just kids anyway (physically AND mentally).

                1. -Nintendo games=Kids?
That comment is ignorant. A “Nintendo game” is STILL a game! Just because its from Nintendo, doesn’t mean its for kids.
                  EX: Shin Megami Tensei, Bayonetta
And considering your on a NINTENDO website, you must either be the “immature adult” or the “kid pussy”. I’ll let you decide.

          1. Avoided? I think Activision doged a bullet. It’s funny because you think third parties are missing out. Lmao

            1. I’ll let you in on a little secret: I actually enjoyed Black Ops 2 on PS3.
It’s the FANBASE that I hate. That and the treatment the Wii U ports got which basically made them undesireably worthless.
As for the image and the statement above?
Ever heard of ” trolling the trolls”?
At this point we’ve talked enough that I’d have thought you’d be able to spot when I’m serious…
Guess I gotta work on being more transparent.

        1. Well, Nintendo doesn’t give a fuck about the Wii U either so I don’t know about that. Loving Splatoon though, woop woop!

    1. I’m not very into Call of duty, but I have to say this is pretty stupid. I know that some people will want it on Wii U. Here’s what I don’t get, they are bringing it to the 360 and ps3…that being the case and the Wii U being slightly more powerful than the 360 and ps3, what would stop them from bringing it to the wii u? That kind of seems like it’s on purpose…personally I’ve been thinking for a while that 3rd parties lately have been trying to take down the wii u or hurt nintendo by not supporting the console. whether or not its true, I don’t know but still…

        1. Especially if they gimped it and strip that version of the features that the other platforms will surely have. We Nintendo fans want equal treatment just like everybody else………..bitch

        2. It sells like shit on Nintendo because they make the ports shitty on purpose to save a buck.
Their loss: they could have built a foundation of trust to sell off of on the Wii U by now if they weren’t waiting for Nintendo to bribe them just to do their fucking job right.XD

          1. Foundation of trust? Seriously, don’t be stupid. They would’ve lost money on every game they put out on the Wii U. Because people like you would not support it.

      1. “Wii U being slightly more powerful than the 360 and ps3” Stop!

It’s not just the power though, it’s just that the Wii U uses a different system.

            1. It’s not the Power Pc ilthat sucks it’s not giving the power Pc 8 cores back in 2008 and 1gb. Power Pc is supposed to be better than X86.

        1. It’s the truth. In 2008 they were stupid in making the Wii U slightly more powerful than Ps3. That’s why it’s in the situation it’d in. Because they were stupid in deciding Project Café weak specs to handle year 2015.

          1. Because your kiddy system is dieing from lack of games son….kiddie games like splatton dont have the audiance of more mature games like call of dutuy you soab stfu thank u

              1. That sounds like something a kid would say. Call of Duty is a lot of fun when you’re playing with a bunch of your friends locally on split screen. I have as much fun playing Call of Duty as I do with Mario Kart 8 with friends. That said, it is a shame Wii U owners won’t get to play this year’s installment of the game.

            1. Actually it seems like Splatoon is helping the Wii U a lot, hell it’s still the top 3rd game here in the UK next to both console versions of the Witcher 3.

Also, why would anyone want to play a third party game on an already outdated console like the PS4 and Xbox One?

                1. PS4 and Xbox One can’t even do 1080p with out lagging, at least Microsoft had the smarts to allow developers to switch between resolutions to have a smoother game, unlike Sony who pretty much forces devs to get the game running in 1080p even if the game runs like crap.

PS4 and Xbox One are outdated seeing how they’re using the mid ranged GPUs from the HD 7800 line of cards from AMD. I mean, Wii U is outdated in terms of hardware, however, it’s software line up is more colourful and fun, Xbox One even has a colourful and fun game too in the form of Sunset Overdrive, PS4 tried it with Little Big Planet 3… but we all know that game wasn’t the best the series, plus, MM are working on a new project which is a shame because they really gave life to series.

So really, games like Splatoon, Yoshi’s Woolly World, Mario Kart 8 and many of Nintendo’s games show that even with outdate tech, you can still get amazing looking graphics if you vary your styles.

                  1. Not really bragging if it’s actual fact.

Witcher 3 runs like crap on PS4 but on Xbox One is seems to run fine due to the developers being allowed to vary the resolution depending on how much is on the screen or how much action is going on.

Also, when did I say gaming died?

                      1. I heard im a Cult legend on this site i have no time to play with pedaphiles right now have headache.

                    1. …”the Wii U has “KAST GEN” graphics?”
                      LMFAO!! Are you shitting me?
                      “Kast gen graphics? Lol
Oh!…..& “Gameing did die?” ……dude! Gameing?! You’re fucking killing me!!
                      LMAO

IT’S “LAST GEN” & “GAMING!” The got damned E isn’t included
                      You fuck head!

                    2. Wii u doesn’t have last gen specs. It’s powerful enough in that department to match PS4. and besides it’s hard to determine because Sony games are more games that must obey the laws of nature and Nintendo games are more cartoonist and graphically and beautiful and doesn’t have to obey the laws of nature. NinteNDO was just stupid as fuck thinking 25ft away from the TV from 2008 was good for 2015. And stupid not making it powerful enough to handle more than one gamepad. Stupid for thinking 1gb would hold up for 2015. Stupid for thinking the battery in the gamepad would be good for 2015. And stupid for making the Wii U dependent on the battery life of the gamepad and stupid for not making the Wii U so damn dependent on the controller. And stupid for not giving it more than 1gb so that updates can be noticable. And stupid for not making it powerful enough for 1os to handle Wii and Wii u. And stupid for needing to plugs to handle the hardrive and stupid for lack of power for the GameCube adapter to play more than one game. If they thought of a more powerful console in 2008 then Wii U could hold up for 2015

                2. PS4 maybe outdated but Sony thought about 2015 in 2008 unlike Nintendo. That’s why it’s selling with no games and no price drop yet.

              1. Oh so now you guys like the UK? what about all of those times where you guys shit talk the UK because of FIFA, Call of Duty etc… selling more than any Wii U game.

                Hypocrites…

                1. I’m from the UK… Wow. for someone who thinks they know everything you clearly don’t know that people from outside of the US also come to this website.

Kind of dumb of you, also, FIFA is pretty garbage. I’m more of PES person myself.

                  1. First of all I never think I know everything. And secondly this sis not even a site from the US, its a UK site; Sickr is from the UK.
Thirdly, I didn’t ask for your opinion on FIFA. What I’m saying pretty much every time there’s a news article regarding Wii u sales in the UK, the commenters here say shit like “the UK market is irrelevant anyways.”

              2. That also begs to question why any third party game should sell well on the Wii U, as the Wii U is just as outdated as the PS4/XB1.

At the end of the day it comes down to multiplats and exclusives. If a third party game is good enough, even if on outdated hardware it will sell. Gamers care about games and that is what they will get. If the game is good, then there usually will be no questions asked, but as i have learned from reading comments by idiot fans, apparently some will ignore a blatantly good game just to smite a conpany for acting like any other company out there…

                1. Dont ignore the fact that ps4 and xbox one has many more games to play and there games look much better nintendo is suited for a kid or a pussy adult so to speak

                  1. Will graphically I believe Wii u can match PS4. Its just no 3Rd party putting in as much effort as the 8 core PS4 cinsole. WII U is just weak when it comes to other things. They should had thought of 2015 when Project Café was in R&D like Sony did.

                      1. If its that order why do mist Ps3 and xbox 360 games look better than Wii u games son

                        1. Because those games you’re thinking of don’t even have Wii U versions so you can’t compare them anyways.

                    1. Being that your sig ends in 93, you’re 21 if not almost 22. Your comments lend credence to your age. Grow up and grow a pair instead of being an ignorant asshole.

                2. Already outdated Ps4? If Wii U had specs the PS4 had it could handle 2 gamepads. Wii U can barely handle N64 games on the 1gb OS they thought 1gb back in 2008 would hold up for 2015.

              3. …..”kiddie games like splatoon don’t have the (audiance)?”
                …..”don’t have the (audiance)?”
…really dude? AUDIANCE?! Lmfao. Can you explain WTF is an “audiance”. LMFAO LOUDER!!

Do You mean…….wait for it: AUDIENCE!!!! You retarded ass TROLL!! Lol. I can tell you’re a C.O.D. FANBOY!!

Fuck M$! Sony! & NTD! You need a got Damned “SPEAK & SPELL” by Texas Instruments you dumb son of a bitch!!! Lol

              1. Says the “fan of some other system(s)” just meandering through a Nintendo website? Seriously? Why are you here? System preference is about game style/choice. If you don’t like Nintendo games, then why post? Pretty simple question right? I’ll continue to play Dragon Age on my PS4 and Splatoon on my Wii u while you cry on a Nintendo website about how awful Nintendo is. Seriously.. just go and let the real gaming fans play games on any and all systems (or PC) of their choosing without spreading malicious hate.

      1. Not a big surprise. I know it has been said before but hopefully with the NX that all changes so we don’t have to hear what’s NOT coming to Nintendo but instead can hear lots of new things that ARE releasing. Time will tell. For me though Steam Link will fill the void for games I couldn’t play otherwise on Wii U.

        1. Yeah if Nintendo doesn’t make the NX a little more powerful than current gen consoles like they did wii u, then maybe the next console can get 3rd party support. But Nintendo is stupid when it comes to next gen specs.

      2. Gee what a surprise! I totally thought COD would be on the Wii U this time! Seriously, the chances of this game announced for the Wii U is lower than me getting the fucking amiibos I want.

      3. Who give a shit about black ops ..I was hopeing for a remake sequel to Super Pittfall Nes….those bastards

      4. the news should be like activision will make call of duty for wii u!! otherwise they shouldn’t even been mentioned:P

      5. It’s a loss but not by much. Because even if they do make a Wii U version, it will be bare minimum while the PS360 versions will have lots more content.

Amiibos might be burning a hole in the Skylanders franchise… Just like Disney taking a stab at Nintendo because Amiibos are selling more everytime a new wave arrives.

      6. Some poster either have some serious case of fox-and-grapes attitude, or they don’t get why getting CoD on the system would be more news.
No matter what you say, having the next Call of Duty title (and even sports titles like FIFA or Madden) in the catalog would sell units. This is not debatable, software moves hardware. More hardware sold means more money in Nintendo’s bank account and a larger installbase, which means more titles (both first and third-party) being produced for Wii U. You’re only shooting yourselves in the foot by being happy about this. I don’t even like those series, but think rationally. This doesn’t benefit you in the long run.

          1. Prime was actually pretty good on DS and Wii, heck, the GBA Metroid games were awesome as well. Other M wasn’t bad but the dubbing really ruined the game because the Japanese version makes the game sound much better.

              1. I like the NES and SNES Metroid games, but I still prefer the Prime series in my honest opinion

        1. I would agree with you, if it weren’t for the fact that every CoD game on Nintendo’s systems thus far have lacked so much content, that they couldn’t possibly move enough units, be it consoles or copies of the games, to be worth paying Activision for them.
Nintendo’s better off keeping it off the system for one big reason: less competition for other shooters.
Both Splatoon and Devil’s Third, alongside whatever else might be in the works, will benefit from not having to compete with CoD for the attention of what few Wii U gamers would actually bother with CoD at this point.
It gives them even more room to stand out, and looking at Splatoon’s success thus far, I’d say it’s working.

          1. “Nintendo’s better off keeping it off the system for one big reason: less competition for other shooters.” NO! You do NOT keep AAA games off your system! You try to get them ON the system! That’s another reason why the Wii U is struggling. It does NOT have these type of games!

            1. The whole first year they had these games.
THEY SOLD BAD BECAUSE THEY SUCKED.
Why would we want them to REPEAT THAT MISTAKE?
At this point, EXCLUSIVES ARE THE SAFER AND HIGHER QUALITY OPTION.

              1. “The whole first year they had these games.” No. No they didn’t. The Wii U had ports of older games that people have already played and it was not getting many new AAA games. I can name you a few games that came out from 2012-2013. Far Cry 3: Didn’t come to Wii U. Tomb Raider: Didn’t come to Wii U. Bioshock Infinite: Didn’t come to Wii U. Grand Theft Auto 5 (the BIGGEST release of 2013) … not on Wii U. You talked about third party games sucking. Ok, all the games I just listed received very positive reviews and are widely known as good games. Why are they not on the Wii U? Did all the developers come together in a meeting and decide “Hey, let’s all avoid making games for the Wii U”. Seriously, why do you think that is? Hmm… ? I can probably tell you why, but I want to hear- er…read your answer first.

                1. Dude, I’m aware that they were all old ports, but it still doesn’t change the fact that these were AAA third party games, and that the way they were delivered basically guaranteed than any subsequent efforts for newer titles would be met with low sales.
Hence why nothing newer, like GTA5 , hit the Wii U; it was never about the specs, it was about trying to sell the wrong games to a new crowd, then using that failure as an excuse to give up instead of trying something that actually WOULD have sold.

I’ve said this a million times to as many people, and I’ll keep repeating it until it finally clicks: Install bases for franchises are built upon trust through quality, and they do not build themselves.

                  1. So if CoD came to the Wii U for three years straight with all the DLC support, it would be selling millions?

                    1. With all the DLC, equal release dates and advertisement strength, and possibly something extra to give people who would still stay away just because it’s a Nintendo console, yes, in the long term each one could likely reach at least 1.5, to 2m, after they’d built up enough trust from Wii U owners.
It’s entirely possible to get at least that much if they do everything right, with the current install base numbers, and possibly more if they do what other third parties have done by releasing some appealing console exclusive content to boost appeal of a version that they don’t expect to sell as well as the others.

Selling an existing franchise to a new console’s user base, that isn’t used to your presence or fair treatment from you, takes more effort than selling it to the existing userbase on other consoles who are already addicted to it and give it some easy sales year on year.
Delivering ports late without all their content and nothing new/exclusive in content to make up for it will only result in failure.

                      1. It wouldnt sell on Wii u and Activision knows because theres to many kids and Pedaphiles on Nintendo Systems…they would loose money

                          1. Your link avatar looks like a 3 year old your immature at least get a sissy teen link lol

                          2. Alright. But I doubt it. I can’t really see that happening. I don’t think there are enough Nintendo fans that care enough to buy it. Look at some of the comments here. People saying Nintendo dodged a bullet because CoD isn’t releasing on Wii U. :/

                            1. Yeah, I’m aware.
                              I do share your doubts.
But the right exclusive content might even pull those people in.
I’d bet good money that if the aliens mode of CoD: Ghosts had some Metroid-themed surprises, like Space Pirates for enemies and beam cannons as extra weapons alongside a new level representative of Zebes or some other Metroid local, there would have been a lot of Nintendo fans who would have eaten that up.

                              1. Well, of course. That sounds awesome. I don’t even play first person shooters that much but I would join in on some of that Nintendo action. XD

                2. That’s a fair point. But still, it would be the cheapest option if you want to play CoD and you don’t own a PS3/360 (which, being realistic, would be an extremely weird case).

I hadn’t thought about competition, actually. It seems weird to think that the potential Splatoon userbase would overlap with the Call of Duty fanbase, but I can see it more easily in Devil’s Third case.

            2. Shame really, Black Ops is actually the best in the Call of Duty series.
Oh well, I’m getting it for PC anyway because I really like Black Ops, more than the Modern Warfare series.

            3. Maybe they took Crapisoft’s word (Ubisoft)…that nintendo fans only buy nintendo games and nother third party games.

            4. Would games like COD Black Ops 3 increase the appeal of the Wii U to a wide audience, course they would but is it the end of the world that it doesn’t No! I love my Wii U the thing Nintendo does much better than anyone else is focus on fun and game play NOT graphics, the two issue here in the UK I believe are: Having the same as everyone else (keeping up with the Jones) seems to influence us to much, secondly Nintendo have not done the best job promoting its self over here (not much media exposure compared with Sony/Microsoft and the lack of retail space dedicated to there platforms).

Increasing media awareness of the products, incentives for resellers to put more focus the products in store, would result in better sales and increased third party involvement.

            5. say what you want about Call of Duty but it sells and is a proven huge wanted game and it not coming to the Wii U along with how little Nintendo is supporting Wii U goes to show you that Wii U Sucks! It’s dead! Fucking garbage. $350 paper weight. (I bought it at launch so yeah it cost that much then)

              1. Yeah, no.
Ghosts didn’t move Wii U units in huge numbers.
                Neither did BLOPS2.
They were made into crappy late ports with missing content.
This would be the same if it hit the Wii U: WE WON’T GIVE BIG SUPPORT TO CRAP PORTS.
I’ll save my cash for Devil’s Third while enjoying Splatoon, tyvm.

              1. The Wii U is last gen buddy boy…..wake up thats why is a flop …the japanese bastards think nintendo fans will buy a damn atari 2600 if that put mario kart and a gimmicky controller on it u stupid fanboy

                1. HollowGrape is not a fanboy at all. That was a serious question that had nothing to do with Nintendo missing the game If you came on here more often you would know who the real fanboys are on this site.

            6. Peanut Butter KitKat

BLOPS II sold around 300k, on Wii U, Ghosts sold even less, Splatoon sold half of that in 4 days in Japan alone.

CoD is irrelevant on Nintendo consoles, it doesn’t sell, never has, so spending money porting a crappy version, that even less people are going to buy is pointless for Activision.

              1. Thank you. I respect that Activision didn’t go with this move because it would have been a waste of time for a multitude of reason. Last-Gen Specs, audience, content, it doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, its about the money. And one way or another, Activision and Nintendo clearly know this deal wouldn’t work out too well.

                1. Which is sad, because the simplest way of turning that on its head, and gaining huge sales, would be simply including some console exclusive content themed off of a big Nintendo franchise.
If Ghosts had done that in its aliens mode by including some Metroid themed gear, space pirates, and levels based around some Metroid locals, the Wii U version would have broken 800k easily, if not 1.2 to 1.5m.

              1. The truth is your outdated console cant handle the next gen grapics of The new black ops game like current gen systems can

                1. It’s hitting PS3, and PS3 is graphically weaker than Wii U.
                  You’ve just been destroyed.
Thanks for playing, back under the bridge with the rest of the trolls.
And you can’t get out, until you get N.:P

                  1. Ps3 games look better than Wii u games …..and your Avatar looks like a 3 year old pussy link …and least get a sissy kid link u wuss
