Good news for Zelda fans as Nintendo UK has tweeted that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be coming to the European Wii U Virtual Console this Thursday. Nintendo of America has yet to announce when the critically acclaimed game will arrive on the North American Wii U eShop, but hopefully it shouldn’t be too long. Many were surprised by the news, as one would have thought that they were still trying to push the Nintendo 3DS version.
Meanwhile in North America…
I wonder if anyone is buying it. This version inferior to 3DS version in every way.

For a dolar you can upgrade your wii version to wiiu.
Actually, I think it’s two dollars… I upgraded Paper Mario to the Wii U from the Wii, which is probably my favorite Paper Mario (for nostalgic reasons; TTYD is probably a better game, but I’m probably nostalgia blind xD).
Ha, same, but add to that the Zelda collectors edition for the GameCube, too! :)
Is this even necessary at this point? Everyone who wanted to play it has played it already . On the off-chance that you have yet to play it, chances are you own a 3DS and could just get the game there.

I am sure it is just kissing ass by giving us a Zelda game on the wii u since they screwed us out of the new Zelda till next year…
I want it. I had the N64 version, but all my old games/systems are gone. And I don’t want it on 3DS. I don’t want the Wii version either. I want to use my Pro Controller.
They should had just remaked the whole game with HD graphics, bigger world, more content, add few more dungeons and call it a day on WiiU, because like others have suggested almost everyone who has wanted has already played the original version, theres like N64, GC, Wii, 3DS and WiiU version with 3DS version only having graphical upgrade and few adjustments to counter the lack of rumble. But yeah at this point a full fledged remake would have been better way to milk OoT once more.
I was still wishing to the day of its release that Majora’s Mask 3D would have AT LEAST a Master Quest mode or maybe even new side quests or dungeons. Well, it had none of those, but at least it fixed some of the original game’s quirks.
So Twilight Princess HD?
Actually, i’m going to get this.. wanna play this on my wii u with my pro controller. I got it on 3ds, but having a bad time with the control on the 3ds!
I would have preferred Turok even with the dated controls.
I won’t buy it yet, but that’s a good thing, and it’s good to know it’s there when I need it. Don’t have N64 any more, not sure where my GC masterquest version is, and I borrowed it from a friend recently to play it on 3ds. BUT knowing it’s there for when I inevitably want to play it again is a comfort.
We’re never getting it in NA… just like “Devil’s Third”.
It’s sad how down on their brand NoA has gotten me. They need to invite all of their fans out to a retreat to do trust exercises. Problem is, I don’t think they’d even catch me if I fell.
I’m not one of the untold millions in the casual market, after all, just a lowly Wii U and N3DS owner.
Getting serious, though: I’ll bite on the cheap upgrade for “Ocarina” without a second thought. I love having my digital games on the home screen and having full game pad support/save states. Bring me “Star Fox 64”, as well. And “Ogre Battle 64” – my body is ready!
I’m still waiting for Star Fox 64/Lylat Wars.

Well, looks like I’m buying OoT again. It’ll be cheap this time as I already have it on Wii Virtual Console! My Wii VC version of this suffers from bad input lag which should be corrected on this (I had the same problem on Mario 64 and it was corrected on Wii U VC)
