Looks Like Mighty No.9 Could Be Delayed Until 2016

Mighty No.9 was meant to be coming out September 15th, but Game Informer is reporting that the game won’t be released this year. This would stack up with the various retailers such as Amazon that said the game had been pushed back to 2016. Strangely the developers Comcept haven’t said a word about the delay.

  1. I think I may go ahead and cancel my preorder then. They delay, the Dina/gamergate drama, and the way Inafune is handling the situation is pushing me away from what could’ve been a good game.

  2. What’s sad is that Inafune is already kickstarting a Megaman Legends Spiritual Successor, yet he cant handle this one properly.

  3. Good thing Inafune made the Red Ash kickstarter. With that money now he can properly finish Mighty Number 9!!
But now he’ll need another kickstarter to finish Red Ash… and so on and so on…

The next Kickstarter will be Mighty Number 9 Battle Network, mark my words.

    1. Not how kickstarter works, if the project was not funded.

It would not matter anyway since Red Ash has been fully funded by a Chinese publisher called Fuze. The kickstarter doesn’t matter so much anymore.

  4. Backer here. We were originally told that the game was not being delayed, that the dates on Amazon were placeholders due to a computer errors telling people their preorders were cancelled (something Comcept claims to have dealt with Amazon about and resolved, restoring said preorders). This news that Gamestop has done the same thing is concerning, and makes me fear that once the Red Ash campaign is done, Comcept may break the news of a delay….and that would kill my remaining faith in Keiji well what little left is there anyway which is not much

    1. Honestly, if this is true, (since apparently there are some disputes whether or not this is accurate) I think Comcept has lost faith in Mighty No. 9 and I don’t think there’s any way it can do well.
And the saddest part is, no matter what, there’s no way this game’ll be better than Shovel Knight. Think about that.

  5. I wouldnt doubt it, Concept is taking on way too many project. I’m quickly loosing interest in the game anyways, so I’ll most likely forget about it when it releases. I’ll pick it up when its on sale or it hits GWG.

  6. I’m actually happy they’re delaying it. Mighty looks great and I’d rather have it in 2016 fully polished and kicking butt then in 2015 with some unpolished bugs.

    1. I would rather have a fully polished game in September of 2015, like they said. I honestly hate when people use that line you used. The reason it is being delayed has nothing to do with polishing bugs, but the fact that they have taken on too many projects for such a small team. They should have finished MN9 before starting new games.

    1. Oh, and I’m absolutely will not buy any Inafune games. Good games but poor execution of project with some unprofessional staff including inafune himself.

  7. My suggestion to everyone is if you like mega man games ignor all the politics and play mega man powered up or maveric hunter x. If you like those games chances are you will like this game.

    1. At least it will give me time to play my other games. Haven’t even beaten most of my PS4 games yet. And I have all the Batman Arkham games. Only played Asylum though. I keep buying games faster than I can beat them. Lol.

        1. Work takes up my day as well. But even on my off days I don’t manage to beat them. FFXIII and The Witcher 3 alone probably take up almost 70 hours. And I recently started getting into this MMO which is addictive and is distracting me from my other games.

            1. Hahaha. Just got it yesterday and already 8 hours in. I love MMOs and RPG’s. They can easily suck up your whole day if you wanted them too. I think I should probably avoid all those online games until I finish the story of most of my games like The Laat of Us and Assassin’s Creed IV.

        1. I have them all already. Lol. But I started out with Asylum first. I’m gonna play them in order. And yeah, I read that Arkham Knight was good but underwhelming. Something about the Batmobile being used too much for tank battles.

          1. In retrospect, the Batmobile was never needed when you think about it. They just threw it in for cheap ass tank combat which Batmobile wasn’t entirely designed for. It looked badass but became almost as forced as it was useless and the story itself was predictable and somewhat anticlimactic. No clever twists and hardly had any GOOD villains left to fight but they also ruined the chances of sweet and personal fights like Arkham Kni..oh sorry, Jason Todd “Red Hood” or Deathstroke..fucking Deathstroke as a tank fight that lasts 2 minutes? Rocksteady dropped the ball several times in this game.

  8. Maybe the game would be out if resources weren’t being put into some stupid anime adaptation of an UNPROOVEN franchise. That’s my issue with the other Red Ash game, there is some stupid anime sucking away funds.

    1. You dislike anime but you have the name of a Fire Emblem character, a series that is heavy with anime styled art. >.< The irony.

  9. It not delayed until we get an official announcement.
However, all the drama surrounding all these ‘Beck’ games is crazy!

Still, as fucked up as all the drama with Red Ash is… that’s a spiritual successor I actually want, considering Legends is dead.

MN9 was always weird to me b/c Capcom will eventually revive MEGAMAN no matter what just out of greed and not b/c of the fans… b/c dormant franchise + time + nostalgia = $$$$ and renewed interest.

  10. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

    >>>Someone should make a game about delaying gameplay itself but delaying the plans for it at first, delaying then the supposed development of that delayed plan and delay it by 10 times once it’s near completion, afterwards once the gamer has the delayed game, the gameplay is of course delayed as mentioned because of purposely applied lag and so on>>>

    1. I think my real response to that is going to be delayed, because I am still trying to process all those delays.

  11. I’m so glad I didn’t Back this game, as much as I liked the megaman series, the development behind this seemed a bit off and unassured to trust.

  12. Im not sure this game can handle such a delay. It’s a small game with a small fanbase. Delaying until next year at this point could potentially be catastrophic.

Mighty Number 9 is borrowing the MegaMan fanbase to fund it’s game. If Capcom happened to release anything MegaMan during the delay, that would be lights out for MN9. It’s a huge risk for Inafune. I know I would lose interest if I had to wait another year.

  13. Peanut Butter KitKat

As with Project CARS, I have zero faith in.this game, I feel sorry for backers as all they want is a new Megaman game.

  14. *shrug* It’s sad when Zelda gets delayed & everything is fine. Nothing to worry about about Zelda being delayed. Yet when this does it, everyone is in an uproar. >.<

    1. The difference between this and Zelda is that the developer seems interested in doing everything else with this game before the game itself releases, including an anime, a manga, a live-action movie, etc. The devs behind Zelda delayed it to make it even better (…or possibly to just put it on NX). Backers are not pleased with how the guy is spending their money as it doesn’t seem to be going towards the game.
