Nintendo has been offering the Photos with Mario application for free when you purchase a $10.00 eShop card. These Mario themed eShop cards also include an Augmented Reality card of either Mario, Princess Peach, or Goomba.
Nintendo’s US Happy Holidays website has now listed the Bowser, Koopa Troopa, and Luigi cards as “coming this fall to select retailers.” So it looks like these three versions will be the next in the series. The retailers they will be available in have not yet been confirmed on the Nintendo website.

Okay, so tell me, how does this work? You buy what and get photos with Mario… is this like, you just buy the themed Eshop card?
Yes, there are special eShop cards with the above AR Card included. So far, you can find a Mario, Peach, and Goomba AR Card at stores. It’s just a normal eShop card, but with a free AR card. You can download the Photos with Mario app for free via the same card or at the eShop. If you’ve ever used the AR function on the 3DS, like the included AR cards, then you know what to expect. The whole AR card thing is the # 1 feature for the 3DS that I consider strictly for kids. I have all 3 of the Photos with Mario AR cards, but have never cared about seeing what they do.
Looks like I have to hunt down a Luigi card.
