Radiant Historia recently celebrated its fifth anniversary in Japan. The role-playing game was published by Atlus on November 3, 2010, in the region – followed by a February 2011 launch in North America for Nintendo DS. Director Mitsuru Hirata took to Twitter the other day to commemorate the milestone, and he also expressed interest in making a sequel.
“Oh, is it already 5 years! Although it is hard to admit that it was never a hit, I’m really grateful to see that many people still love it,” Hirata said. “Personally I also have a strong emotional attachment with this title. I’ll always hold onto an attitude ‘someday a new Radiant Historia!’ lol #rh_atlus”

I still really want to play this game!! And a sequel would be dope I really like the concept.
I literally just went to ebay and bought this game for 21 bucs. It’s rare that I find a good rpg that I’ve never played… This is one that got really good reviews.. Looks really good too..
This is the kind of game that doesn’t need a sequel. Maybe an unrelated second entry in the series, but certainly not a direct sequel.
It did pretty well in the US, but the Japanese ignored it. Too bad that a sequel will probably never be green lit.
I’ve heard of the game but never got to play it. Can anyone who has played it share their opinion?
A good game, though not as good as many people say it is.
The same could be said for a lot of games.
Yes, but we’re talking about this one in particular.
I played it on my DS long ago and really liked it.
The story was phenomenal & deep, music was great and the combat system was engaging.
I can’t even count the amount of games that aren’t the least bit appealing to me.
Oh man~ This was a good game! I’d definitely snatch up such a sequel. Few games play with time travel in a way that is as limiting on tedium the way this game does. Not to mention the actual ways you can use information from one timeline to your benefit like so many multiple time like stories fail to ever let you do.
A funny thing I just discovered: I was replaying this yesterday and noticed that the soundtrack is similar to the one in Xenoblade Chronicles (especially in the more violin-heavy tracks). Turns out the soundtrack was composed by Yoko Shimomura, one of the composers of the Xenoblade soundtrack.
Taking into account that the game also features visions of the future, you should get it if you like Xenoblade Chronicles, since it has some superficial similarities.
