In the Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival game, launching exclusively for the Wii U console on Nov. 13, you and up to three friends can play as your favorite characters from the too-adorable-for-words Animal Crossing universe. Fan-favorite characters like Isabelle, Tom Nook and newest resident Lottie come to life in the game when you scan the new Animal Crossing amiibo figures, also launching in stores on Nov. 13. Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival is overflowing with fun game modes to play and family-friendly activities to participate in. At this festival, the only goal is to have fun, make animal villagers as happy as possible and party with your friends. It doesn’t get any better than that!

In Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival, your amiibo are the stars! To play the game, you will need at least one of the eight new Animal Crossing amiibo. The game includes both Isabelle and Digby amiibo figures, so once you buy the game you are good to go. To enhance the game experience and exponentially increase the amount of cuteness in your household, the other six Animal Crossing amiibo figures will also be available to purchase. Mabel and Tom Nook are sold as standalone figures at a suggested retail price of $12.99 each, and a 3-pack of Reese, Cyrus and K.K. is available at a suggested retail price of $34.99. Finally, Lottie, a new character introduced in Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer, will be available on Nov. 22 at a suggested retail price of $12.99.
Have you ever wanted to be as outspoken as Lottie? Or have the business sense of Tom Nook? For the first time in the Animal Crossing series, once you tap one of the Animal Crossing amiibo to the Wii U GamePad controller, you play as that animal character! And up to three friends can scan in their compatible amiibo as well to join the fun party. So don’t forget to ask your friends to “B.Y.O.A. (Bring Your Own amiibo)” if they come over to play.
Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival features many different game modes, with the main attraction being a board game adventure for up to four players. The dynamic board game is inspired by the months of the year, so you can choose to play during the snow-covered wintry months or the sun-soaked summer while enjoying classic Animal Crossing events like “Bunny Day” and fishing tournaments.
In Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival, the happiest player wins. And sure, playing the game itself will make you happy, but having the biggest smile on your face after playing is only a bonus. To win, you must collect “happy points” as you roll dice, travel around the board and land on spaces to see your character perform fun activities like catching fish and going to the flea market. Each space you land on will either give you happy points or take them away, depending on the activity. The player with the most happy points at the end of the game wins!
In addition to the main board game, festivalgoers can also enjoy activities like escaping from a desert island, taking a challenging (but fun!) Animal Crossing quiz and running around a garden to collect acorns while outrunning a lawnmower – you know, like animals do when they get together to celebrate a festival. There are also eight mini-games in Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival that use amiibo cards, which are also compatible with the Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer game for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.
Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival kicks off in stores on Nov. 13 at a suggested retail price of $59.99. And remember: that includes the Isabelle and Digby amiibo figures and three amiibo cards specific to Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival.

Sounds like a shitty downgraded version of Mario Party, honestly. No mini games after each round, “Happy Points” being the equivalent of coins (if there were no mini games, the MP boards technically would almost only consist of fields that make you either lose or win coins as well).
All in all, sounding very underwhelming to me personally, and not even remotely close to being worth its 60€ price tag imo.
Where’s the reviews?
I’m hyped. I really just don’t get the hate this game is getting. IT isn’t suppose to be mario party, it is suppose to be a slow easygoing game. Everything about it is peaceful. This is a game to cool down a relax with.
The game is bad. Nintendo should feel bad. They took everything wrong with Mario Party 10 and made it even worse. This is the laziest excuse for a videogame ever, it could have been just a Tabletop board game and nothing would have been lost.
I’m glad you’re hyped friend. But as much as I love my Wii U (& ANIMAL CROSSING!!) this game sounds like “Candyland 2015 edition” …….now with Animal Crossing Amiibos!
Furthermore……… Last time I checked its THE END OF THE YEAR meaning you should end the year with a BANG!
M$ & Sony got COD BLACK OPS 3 & STAR WARS BAYYLEFRONT. While Nintendo lacks strong 3rd party support they’ve brought great titles in Sept & Oct like MARIO MAKER & YOSHIS WOLLY WORLD.
But this Amiibo Festival & lets not forget Mario Tennis Ultra Smash both look very underwhelming if not boring!!
I watched some gameplay footage of all the game modes. It honestly doesn’t look as bad as Mario Party 9/10. Still, I’m not gonna waste money on it. And having to scan amiibo (or cards) so often is something I find very unintuitive (Amiibo Party in MP10 was HORRENDOUS).
I’ll be waiting patiently for Xenoblade. And I’ll be trying Battlefront on PC or Xbone. Though the Beta wasn’t at all impressive, especially on Xbone.
My wife and I had a lot of fun with amiibo Party in MP10. It’s the only mode we ever really play, so we’re looking forward to attending the amiibo Festival. There’s no party like an Animal Crossing party!
