One of the more interesting announcements we have had lately is the inclusion of Linkle in Hyrule Warriors Legends on the Nintendo 3DS. The latest edition of Japanese gaming publication Famitsu has some information regarding the character which is seen as a female Link. Linkle initially came to be as a proof-of-concept female Link which fans have been clamouring for for quite some time.
The game includes a storyline chapter (exclusive to the 3DS version) where we see Linkle on her way to Hyrule Castle, using an ancient compass that’s been passed down generations. She’s described as a “bright and free-spirited young girl,” that wanders about and save those who need a little bit of help.
Using a pair of crossbows, Linkle can attack in the air or whilst on the move, dealing deadly damage through melee attacks and a heaped helping of bomb arrows.
Can’t wait to see her story in the game
I’m calling it. Zelda Wii U will have s choice of playing with either Link or Linkle.
I would actually like that. don’t replace Link but make it optional for people.
Exactly. I’m fine if companies decide to make a new side series of something including a main female character that is based off of a pre-existing character as long as they don’t completely replace the original. Like when Marvel decided that comic book Thor is now a woman.
Ah yes. He died, lost his powers, etc reasoning for giving his name/mantle to a new character. I’m okay with that as long as the beginning of the story has you play Link up til he gets killed & his sister, who shares his bloodline, gets the Triforce of Courage passed to her because Link didn’t have any children of his own to pass his piece to, or his spirit altogether.
Of course. It shows her as plain as day in that last Zelda U video they showed during the direct. You can tell by her face, the hair that comes down the sides of her face, just like her picture above. Also in previous videos Links legs were longer and slimmer. The girl on the horse has short, thick legs.
I’m 100% convinced that Linkle, or a girl version of Link will be in Zelda U. Simply because she has already been revealed in that last video, but most people are too stubborn to admit it.
Why are you so adamant about that Link being a female? Is the idea of a guy with some feminine features troubling you or something?
See, this is where a lot of people misunderstand me. I don’t want Link to be a female. I’m positive that was a male Link in the earlier videos Nintendo showed off. I’m just saying there will be an option to choose a male or female version of Link at the beginning of the game, probably during the file selection. I believe this because that was the female Link in that last video.
I’m still going to choose the male Link, if the option does in fact exist.
And no, link appearing female, or having feminine features does not bother me one bit. If in fact I’m wrong, it’s cool.
I’m just telling you what I see in that last video, and from what I see Nintendo will allow a female Link option in the next Zelda game.
And allow in-air attacks, as seen in the short video they show over and over and over. :)

And this is why they need to listen to their fans, so they need to listen to their fans. So they aren’t pissing them of with bad practices such as this.

And the 3DS version has many (non-graphical) improvements too. Like being able to switch between captains mid-battle. Don’t forget that it’s $20 cheaper too, and it comes with all DLC aside from the Boss Pack. So apparently, $80 (game plus DLC) = $40 with many new things. 1.5 years later. Okay. I understand price drops, but this isn’t a price drop: it’s a new product. This is neglect for the consumer and a bad business practice in general, imo. Then again, this is Koei Tecmo, so no surprise.

The characters will all be playable on the Wii U. It’s jut the Story Mode that is 3DS exclusive, because the new Game has to have something on it.
It already had something to it. All Free dlc from wii u, and portability. And the swap characters in battle

People who have a wiiu and not a 3ds deserve to voice their opinions. Wiiu doesn’t have a constant stream of game like 3ds, we have only a few good exclusives nintindo gives us. Compare the games on 3ds to the ones on it. 3rd party left Nintendo is all wii u has left and they are focusing more on 3ds and giving us unfinished games, Mario tennis, Mario party, kart (battle mode). Nintendo isn’t helping make the wii u decent when they are making the wii u lose its appeal.
But if you boycott the game how Will Nintendo know why they lot that sale?
Let’s say 1,000’s of people boycott the game but never speak up on why they decided not to buy the game, wouldn’t that just mean that people just aren’t interested in the game overall?

She IS canon. She is already confirmed for Zelda U. That is her on the horse in the last video.

I really hate seeing new, improved and/or completely odd things in this 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors. Because I wasn’t planning on buying it. I usually hate handheld versions of console games. Like Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. Though I didn’t play that long enough to be so harsh.
Luigi’s Mansion is my favorite game on the 3DS. The online multiplayer is so fun and addicting.
This looks like a younger version of Princess Zelda, dressed as Link.
Not a fan of her character design. Looks kinda… bland. But hey, Hyrule Warriors is pretty bland too, so I guess it’s fitting.
I am totally supportive of a female Link though. I just don’t like what I’ve seen of her.
I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing Linkle in other spin-offs. I think she’s pretty cool.
