This week’s video game charts are now in from Japan courtesy of Media Create. There haven’t been too many new releases this week, but it’s reassuring to see that the Nintendo 3DS remains the best-selling format by a fair distance. Its closest competitor is the PlayStation 4 which has struggled slightly in recent times in Japan. Wii U sales are down this week but that isn’t too surprising given the lack of new releases. Anyway, here’s the best-selling hardware and software this week in Japan.

Now, ask me if I care about the stupid Wii U? The 3DS family of consoles will always beat out the U. Sorry if I offended ppl but that’s tough beans, bc it’s true!!
If those beans are atill tough, maybe you should boil them a bit more :l
It’s better to own both. Wii U has the best exclusives.
It’s unrelated but I just want to point out that all of Nintendo’s stock gains yesterday have been wiped out today. It’s less to do with Nintendo than the current economic state globally, but just pointing it out!
I noticed that too. They’re still $0.40 above where they opened yesterday, a pretty decent increase, but the day only just started. Still plenty of time for further loss. It’s interesting how prices can sore so high in a single day only to plummet the next. I wonder why they rose to begin with.
Because the rent is too damn high.
Rent?
It’s a joke lol
Here’s some context
Lol. Oh.
lol its a dumb joke but it gets me every time. Poor guy, but he sure gave a lot of people a reason to tune in though XD
Wii U is back to normal…
Not normal yet. Next week is the first without a holiday in japan. Last week on Monday was a holiday in japan.
You said that last week. Or maybe it wasn’t you but someone has said that for 2-3 weeks now.
It was me referring to this week when I said it last week. Monday was the holiday last week. No holiday on the current week we in so next week’s chart will be a normal week.
What kind of holiday? Because if it’s not like a Christmas kinda thing I can’t see how that would affect sales.
Coming of age holiday. Celebrates men and women that are 20 years old.
How is 15,000 not normal? Before the holidays Wii U was always in the 15K to 20K range.
>>>It was actually between 10k – 12k and before that it was 6k>>>
It was getting into a pretty consistent 15-25k actually before the holidays when it skyrocketed. The days of 6k a week were (and should remain) far behind us.
>>>About 3 weeks of it, not long enough for me to consider it consistent yet>>>
Nah it was 15-25k for a couple months bro.
I was just giving a ballpark range. I want sure the exact range, but I know it was much lower than it’s been lately. Sorry for the confusion.
*wasn’t sure
It is not normal because the Monday on this chart was part of a holiday. The coming of age was the holiday.
I am not referring to the time frame though, just the numbers. A couple weeks back it was in the 50K range I think, maybe higher. Now it is back down.
Next few weeks will determine some sort of baseline for 2016 Wii U.
The sales for Wii U in Japan sure did plummet back down to pathetic numbers quicker than I expected. I guess I got my hopes up once again for NintenD’OH!’s Wii U. When will I ever learn?
Will be getting odinsphere on the vita later this year
