It turns out that you don’t need an amiibo to unlock the Wolf Link costume in Super Mario Maker. Those who don’t own the new Wolf Link amiibo can still unlock the outfit by completing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Event Course, which is now live. The course is of course inspired by the recently-released Wii U version of the Nintendo GameCube game, which comes bundled with the Wolf Link amiibo.

I had the amiibo anyway to unlock the costume, and apparently a few people at Nintendo forgot to do their jobs because all of the Japanese text was still there.
