ESRB: Monster Hunter Generations Rated

The next Monster Hunter title set to launch on Nintendo 3DS in both Europe and North America this summer is Monster Hunter Generations. The title was recently rated by the Entertainment Software Rating Board who decided to stamp the game with a teen rating citing blood, crude humour, fantasy violence and mild suggestive themes. Here’s the description of the long-awaited game which is known as Monster Hunter X in Japan.

“This is an action-adventure game in which players engage in hunting missions in a fantastical world filled with monsters. Players use swords, lances, bombs, and firearms to kill various creatures (e.g., dragons, dinosaurs, sand sharks) and complete missions/quests.

“Battles are accompanied by impact sounds, cries of pains, and realistic explosions. Red blood-like spurts briefly appear as characters and monsters are injured. Players can equip female characters with revealing outfits that depict large amounts of cleavage. During the course of the game, players can throw ‘dung bombs’ at enemies, resulting in depictions of greenish-brown clouds.”

    1. You… uh…

You uh… do realize this is Monster Hunter X, right?

“when a real monster hunter game comes out”

Again, you do realize this is a mainline game. And hardly even half of the Monster Hunter games that get released in Japan ever make their way translated here.

Bet you didn’t even know there is a Monster Hunter MMO, but because of people like you. They won’t release it here.

      Thanks.

      1. Ooops, my bad, I forgot that’s it called generations on the US. I was thinking the other game, the spin-off (which i can’t remember the name of) and yes I do know about the MMO, not something that will happen anytime soon on the west sadly, the MMO market in the west isn’t that profitable compared to the east.
