Minecraft: Wii U Edition won’t be exclusive to the Nintendo eShop forever. A physical release will soon be made available in stores, though a specific launch date has yet to be announced. Minecraft made its Wii U debut last December. The popular sandbox game allows you to craft, create and explore alone, or with up to four players in split-screen and up to eight online.

Not really a Minecraft fan but this is great news for people who can’t get enough of the game and for the ones who want to preserve memory on their Wii U from downloading the game digitally. It’s great to see a 3rd party game perform well on a Nintendo home console despite the game’s shortcomings (still no option for the inventory selections to be on the gamepad) but hopefully that gets addressed in a future update
i might wait until the games supports inventory management via gamepad before getting the physical version.

Well, I was never interested in Minecraft, and I always thought it looked incredibly stupid. But if there was ever a time for me to play it and see what it’s really all about, this would be that time. Since I’m one of those “physical or nothing” gamers.
I didn’t even know it was digital only, to be honest. It’s cool, though, more games to add to my collection.

Still no. Until they add inventory management on the Gamepad, I’m sticking with the PC version.

You gotta be some serious Wii U collector or Nintendo nut to give two fucks about this. Anybody in their mother can run this game on PC, which allows for more mods than you can count.
Some people (like myself) don’t care anything about PC gaming. I use my PC for the internet, and video/photo editing etc. Not for games.

Yeh it was said ages ago when it was released. I’m buying a physical copy regardless! I plan on doing a comp. on my channel to celebrate the physical copy launch. Sure why not? :)
Hmm considering it’s roughly 4 months out, I’m glad I bought my sibling the digitial version as it’s taken too long.

I tried to play the pocket version and really just can’t stand the day/night cycles. At night its like fkk man can I get a lantern or something? Also, after starting over a few times I still haven’t ran into a village. It crafting system is weird anyway.

most people only care about the gamepad inventory management but i get where you are coming from, it makes sense to add wiimote functionality and gyroscope functionality.
Unless it has the gamepad functionality people have asked for, it’s worth nothing
