Mega Man Franchise Is Now At 31 Million Units Sold

Capcom has announced today that the Mega Man franchise is now at 31 million units sold. This is presumably thanks in part to the Mega Man Legacy Collection which was released for a number of formats, it won’t have made a substantial impact but an impact nonetheless. The franchise is placed fourth on Capcom’s list behind Monster Hunter,Street Fighter, and Resident Evil.

  1. This is good for Mega Man, but sadly, there are some franchises that have sold more in one game than the entire Mega Man franchise.

  2. While I admit I am a sick little fanboy for the Mega Man spin-offs (i.e. Legends, Battle Network, Starforce), I have NEVER enjoyed the mainline Mega Man games.

  3. Yea, and look at what Capcom does to the franchise with it’s anniversary this year. The new reboot looks like trash. They should be focusing on making games for the long time MegaMan fans rather than children.
