Bad news for Iranian smartphone gamers as Pokemon GO has been banned in Iran. The rather harsh ban is apparently related to “unspecified security concerns.” Iran is the first country to ban the popular mobile title and the decision was made by Iran’s Supreme Council of Virtual Spaces.

This is nothing new. Pokémon’s been banned in the Middle East back in the 90’s, too.
Actually, it wasn’t banned as a whole. It was only banned in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
That’s probably the only thing they’ve done XD ruin people’s childhoods because they got the power to do so! Probably has nothing to do with security concerns!
I mean, if you rely on a new game of the already big pokemon franchise to make your childhood not ruined, it probably wasn’t your childhood in the first place.

People are getting injured playing Pokemon Go without common sense, Iran knows it’s a stupid country and wants to protect itself from it’s own stupidity, which is ironically clever.
They feel it’s a threat to their religion hence the security concern. Just my guess
They see how addicting this game is in the rest of the world so they are afraid their people will do the same & forsake Islam for it.
