New Pikmin Game Is Coming To Nintendo 3DS

*Grabs popcorn*
Have to say, I was a bit afraid that it was Pikmin 4 when the started showing it.
Anyway, this looks pretty underwhelming.
The gameplay they showed just looks… kinda boring.
Pikmin as a sidescroller just seems like a silly idea. But I suppose it’s the only way to get the series onto 3DS. Handheld screen is too small for a traditional title.
It’s a side scroller? I need to watch this direct when I get home
Yep, it’s a side-scroller. Doesn’t look like much of a platform-heavy game though. Definitely looks more puzzle based. Which is at least in line with the main titles. Graphics looks pretty ugly though (in my opinion). And the frame-rate looks pretty awful at certain moments. I’m sure this is just a harmless spin-off so it doesn’t really bother me that much. Who knows, maybe it’ll be good.
3DS games always look pretty awful unless you have the 3D turned on imo, the super stable 3D makes them look especially nice
The 3D does make them look better, I agree.
They were so preoccupied, with whether or not if they could, they didn’t stop and think if they should._.
P4. Looks pretty cool. I’m getting it.
I doubt this is Pikmin 4…………hopefully it isn’t :(
Lol no the P4 doesn’t stand for Pikmin 4. That’s just something I do in my comments.
It looks like an interesting side game to tide us over until Pikmin 4. I’ll definitely give it a shot.
One thing I noticed was that none of the games they mentioned were “New” 3DS exclusives. Did anyone notice something I didn’t? I have a 2DS so I hope they aren’t N3DS only…
Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for you and the regular 3DS users, however I’m disappointed they didn’t put the effort into making stronger games that took advantage of the N3DS ram and clock speed.
I doubt they want to fracture the user base. Perhaps mid-late 2017 will see some N3DS exclusives.
||The N3DS is an abandoned weapon like the Wii U, thank you for your question…||
Lol. Seems that way.
Another title that should’ve been on wiiu..
I cant help but assume this was Miyamotos idea as well. Pikmin 4, if on the Wii U, is going to follow the same fate as Paper Mario. I mourn the body of my fallen brethren Chibi Robo, who after much experimenting, was sentenced to the same 2D fate.
Well, not THIS title, but Pikmin 4 should definitely be on a home console
I’m pretty into a side scrolling handheld Pikmin cause it reminds me A LOT of Kirby’s Mass Attack which I thought was really engaging and satisfying to play. So clever but the gameplay idea made WAY more sense for a Pikmin title and it’s good to see the idea again for Pikmin.
I like the game as a Pikmin fan. So i am going to get the game when it comes out. But this isnt the Pikmin 4 game that was mentioned last year.
Well at least this spinoff comes at a good time when we know a fourth mainline installment is on the way, unlike another recently-released spinoff that flipped fans the bird in several ways.
Can’t say the comparison didn’t cross my mind as well.
Maybe they are just keeping a Metroid NX game as a secret…
Pfft. As if. That fucktard Tanabe has been too busy with FedshitForce to give a flying fuck about Metroid Prime 4! As for Sakamoto, he’s too busy doing non-Metroid shit because of the overwhelming hate he got for Other M. Sadly, Team Ninja got some of the brunt of that even though they only did the gameplay & had nothing to do with the story. But since FedshitForce has finally released, I’m sure they are finally in the pre-development stage of Metroid Prime 4 if not the early beginnings of the development stage. If NX is truly a handheld first, home console second hybrid, we should expect the worst as MP4 will carry on FedshitForce’s chibi artstyle so people won’t “have trouble aiming on a small screen” as the NX’s main focus will be that, not a big screen TV. THE TIME IS NEAR!!! THE FALL OF METROID HAS BEGUN!!!
lol we shall see, i personally just try to stay optimistic ^^
So its a Pikmin tittle for 3DS worth wil. Pikmin is my favorite franchise by Nintendo. Im def going to try this. And i cant wait to see the one for wii u or NX. Pikmin is Nintendo’s most under rated franchise. That is one hell of a game. I hope while Pikmin 4 is still in R&D they thought about online. All the good challenging players are in other states or countries.
It’s definitely gonna be an NX title. It’s most likely gonna suffer the same fate as Pikmin 3: a game meant for last gen console but moved to the next gen console because there is no point putting on the last gen console. Maybe it’ll get a dual release on Wii U but don’t hold your breath.
I hope not. But you probably right. It wouldn’t be too bad if they just stuck with the formula of Pikmin 2 though
Meh, not sure about this one…
my opinion on the new pikmin game is that is going to be complete utter crap compared to the others in the series god i hope its just a spin off game and not meant to be a mainstream game
Isn’t this what destroyed Chibi Robo? Turning Chibi Robo into a side scroller on the 3DS? I realize this is the only way to have a Pikmin game on 3DS. But still…
This probably won’t be the future of Pikmin. Besides, Chibi Robo was never really a great series to begin with. The original Gamecube title was good, but it wasn’t on the same level as Pikmin.
Yeah. Pikmin ROCKS!
Actually, you can say the same about the original Pikmin, too. It was a good game but the sequel is where the franchise really got big as it expanded on the first’s gameplay mechanic of collecting stuff. As for Chibi-Robo, I have no clue where they went wrong with that.
I don’t know about that. I mean obviously the second game should be expected to be better and more popular. New modern series’ typically take a couple games to catch on. But the first Pikmin was very well received and if it wasn’t as good as it was, it could have gone the way of Chibi Robo.
