Video: Off-Screen Footage Of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Nintendo didn’t give much dedicated air-time to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in their recent global unveiling, but some lucky fans (including myself!) got to go hands-on with the title at Switch Premiers that were hosted simultaneously in major cities around the world. One fortunate attendee captured some footage of the game which was, in this case, being played on the Switch screen.

Check out the footage below:

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is being released this year and includes all of the Wii U downloadable content. The Battle Mode we all know and love from previous Mario Kart’s is back along with new playable characters and new weapons.

I can’t wait to fall off Rainbow Road countless times and turn the console off in a fit of rage again.

  1. Looks really good in handheld mode. Very nice framerate. Very stable.

It’s going to be an investment, but a good one I feel given the steady line-up of games coming out after launch.

Well, thank you for stirring up those old memories. Everyone make sure you have an anger management therapist on retainer! XD

I am curious how many people will be playing Mario Kart 8: Free Online Edition after Switch Launches. I’m getting an itch to play it again with all this MK talk!

    1. It’s the worst. Especially if you time your drift so utterly wrong you go from 1st to 12th in the matter of seconds…

It plays nicely on the Switch screen, the JoyCons are a perfect fit too. Battle mode was awesome when I played it a couple of days ago – it’s so great to have it back.

    1. It did look good, better than the Wii U version -smoother but that’s about it. An untrained eye wouldn’t be able to tell
